Guest guest
Hi all, I've a basic astronomical doubt, and that's because I've heard both the following theories from people on Rahu's and Ketu's movement: 1. They're not really moving antizodiacal but only appear so relational to the earth's movement, and that too because they're so close to, and move much slower than, earth 2. They always move antizodiacal. Their speed of movement, relational to the earth's movement, gradually reduces to a complete stop (but never move direct) and starts going antizodiacal again. Though I've nothing to back it up, I suspect the second is more realistic. What do the gurus have to say? Warm regards, Ramapriya hubli (AT) vsnl (DOT) com
Guest guest
Rahu and Ketu are not seen. The Moon is seen and it's movement is closely measured to deduce Rahu and Ketu. The Moon's motion is minutely erratic and if the Moon goes (comparatively) retrograde momentarily then Rahu & Ketu are understood to move (comparatively)forward a little bit. This is my understanding - I am not an astronomer though. If you read Lahiri Ephemeris it shows measurements which give small forward motions. If anyone knows better please advise. I would be most interested too. Regards Gordon
