JAYA JAGANNATHA!

Dear Swee,

Namaste.

As for my part, I accept that I don't know many things yet. I think I will be

able to clarify the stories about the planets opnly after I have gont through

all the Puranas, which may take a few decades. Hitherto I have not seen any

collection of excerpts from Puranas which is well referenced and explains the

stories behind the planets. I admit that this will give some basis to explain

the natural relationships, lordships, Mooltrikonas and exaltations down to even

Nakshatra Paadas. Howvere before that I will need to do my own research to at

least start to understand the Nakshatra lords and their creation. This I plan

to do in this year. However I don't approve of the KP stuff you bring in by

stating the planets that are lords of the different nakshatras. This is

improper. The planets are lords of the Vimsottari mahadasas related to those

Nakshatras. If you go through BPHS chapters about Udu Dashas or Sanjay's book,

you will see that for Ashtottari os Shodashottari dasa a completely different

set of planets is given correlated to the same Nakshatras. Now why did Krishna

murthy take Vimsottari lords? Why not ashtottari? So I would rather stick to

the Nakshatra Devatas in the anlysis you attempted, rather than linkin to the

planets.

First thing to do is to identify the genealogy of all the devatas who are amsa

rulers, incl. Nakshatra lords and the planetary rulers. This I will attempt in

the first chapters of my book including the explanation fo the process of

creation. Without understanding this you can't be sure about your conclusion on

the relationship of planets and Rasis/Nakshatras. This is a very deep subject

and you should not be in a hurry understanding it. With sincere prayer and

purity the understanding will come in due time. If these thing are not there,

you will just think you have understood, and will be prone to make mistakes.

Please wait till I compile these info and then you will be the first one anyway

to geti it for editing.

RE: [vedic astrology] Classics on the Nakshatras-Jeremy, Gauranga Prabhu, et al

Jaya Jagannatha

Dear Jeremy, Gurus et al,

Took on Nakshatra by Dennis Harness, is completely different from Subhakaran’s,

in the sense that you enquired about the depth of descriptions where planets

rule and the Deities reside etc. This particular one can be got from D.H.’s

book. But, as with all the nakshatra books, you will need to collate

information and draw your on conclusions.

What is interesting to note are the exaltation points of each planet. In the

following suppositions, I am only going into the correlation with the Sun, as

it is exalted in the first Nakshatra in the 4th portion (pada).

Sun: 10° Aries is the 4th pada of Aswini, which is in Ketu’s star, which is

10°00’-13°20’ in the sign ruled by Cancer.

>From the Sun dynasty: Padma Purana 1.8. 39-40

The twins Yama and Yamuna (Aswini twins) were also born to Samjna (Sun’s wife).

Then unable to bear Vivasva’s lustre (Sun’s exaltation) she, the beautiful

daughter of Tvastr, produced from her own body, a blameless lady, Chaya

(shadow)by name.

Chayaputra is the name of the wife of the Sun. She was like the shadow or

likeness of Samjna, the wife of the Sun. Samjna, on one occasion wanted to go

to her father’s house and asked her husband’s permission which was denied.

Determined to carry out her purpose, she created a woman exactly like her.

Chaya produced a son called Sani (Saturn).

It is evident we see the merging of the Atma (Sun, Narayana) with Mana (bright

of Moon, Krishna), in perfect unison and harmony. The karmic controllers.

The birth of Saturn indicates the dark side of the Moon (Chaya-Krishna Paksha).

In BPHS, in the friendship table, you can now see why Saturn is enemies with

the Sun and the Moon.

Saturn’s debilitation in Aries (indicating the innocent child). The highest

debilitation point is 20° Aries, which is in the nakshatra Bharani (13°20’

-26°40’ Aries), which is ruled by Venus (sexual union of the Venus and

Mars-Aries interaction) It’s highest point of debilitation is 20°00’ Aries,

which is in the sign Virgo (16°20-20°) where Venus is most debilitated (dark of

Moon keeling to Sun’s whim) in the sign Virgo. (A child is always innocent). The

Chitra nakshatra owned by Mars spans 23°20’ Virgo to 6°40’ Libra. Venus’

highest point of debilitation is 27°00’ Virgo. This point of exaltation at

26°40-30°00’ remains in the sign owned by Virgo. (The result of the energy

caused by Mars and Venus).

This is explains why Saturn is strong at nights and also has a downward look

beside other things. This also makes it clear why Saturn is considered to be

the karmic indicator. This all points to Saturn, who is really teaching us the

lesson. Whether we learn and benefit from the karmic lessons seems to be
