Your AK is not Venus. It is Rahu. When comparing longitudes for finding AK,

count Rahu's longitude from the end of the sign.

Mercury still shows ishta devata though. He is in the 12th from Rahu.

Don't worry too much about neechamsa.

Suppose AK is in Sg and Scorpio is empty. If we have to suggest the deity

who would give moksha, we can take Mars or Ketu. If Mars is debilitated and

Ketu is exalted, do you know which planet is preferred as ishta devata? It

is the debilitated Mars and not the exalted Ketu! Debilitation is not bad

per se.

Exaltation is essentially a state representing the purusha (male) nature of

the universe. It represents ahamkara (ego). That is why exalted planets are

akin to a person who is excited, easily satisfied and proud. On the

contrary, debilitation is essentially a state representing the sakti

(female) nature of the universe. It represents prakriti (nature). That is

why debilitated planets are akin to a person who is patient, has a lot of

stamina and works hard.

Though exalted planets are normally thought to be strong and debilitated

planets weak, the correct conclusion often requires a balanced analysis. As

they show pride and easy satisfaction, exalted planets can sometimes show

false confidence and fall. As they show patience and persistence,

debilitated planets can sometimes show success after hard work. That is why

planets in kendras (quadrants), which are the places of Vishnu (god of

sustenance and activity), give neecha bhanga raja yoga to debilitated

planets, showing that the patience and persistence pay off due to effort.

You may find a little more information on these basic concepts in the MP3

audios of "Achyuta Jyotish Workshop", which will be available for buying

online in a few more days.

Even though one prefers success and happiness without effort in things of a

material nature, nothing comes without patience and hard work in the areas

of spirituality and moksha. Association of ishta devata with a debilitated

planet is not at all undesirable.

> What does this mean please and what do I need to do to uplift it? Any

It means you will work hard for moksha and follow your dharma in that

direction. Things do not come easily, but you patiently work towards it.

> remedy to make my attention steadfast to Him? Mine is Ge Lagna with Me

> in Li with Ketu.

Pray to Vishnu sincerely. Because of Mercury's debilitation, I can also

suggest praying to Tripurasundari.

> Can we ever increase devotion to the Lord by vedic remedies???

Don't worry too much. You're doing fine.

BTW, from Nov 2003 to Nov 2010, you will make a lot of progress in your

astrology studies and become a pretty good astrologer. You'll work very hard

on your astrology in this 7 year period.
