Dear Nimmi The recent campaign action on Nestlé’s US$6 million compensation claim against famine-stricken Ethiopia has been a huge success. Thanks to the negative media coverage, and more than 40,000 emails of complaint, Nestlé immediately softened its stance. The company will soon begin talks with the Ethiopian government. Thanks to everyone who took action. You can find out more at www.maketradefair.com/go/scrooge/update.Since its launch in September, the coffee focus of Oxfam's Make Trade Fair campaign has made real progress towards getting the industry to work for poor producers as well as big businesses. More than 126,000 people have signed the petition, demanding that the company give coffee farmers a decent price. If you haven’t yet taken action, please do it now at www.maketradefair.com/go/coffee. If your original email did not get through the first time, we have re-sent it to Nestlé to ensure your voice counts.
