Can a Guru help me rectify my time - at least tell me whether I'm right?

Also, I must admit that although I am aware of the existence of methods that

have been referenced/described in this newsgroup, I just have not found the

time to go into an organized in-depth study. So I try to learn on the fly and

am hoping some of you Gurus can specifically point me in the right direction -

the benefit to the newsgroup of course is that you (the average reader) can

follow as the time is rectified.

My chart is attached. I am quite sure of the Rasi lagna - Aquarius. I have the

characteristics of an Aquarius - tall, but extremely thin for most of my life

in India. After coming to the US I have become muscular but not fat. I have 2

older sisters, no younger sibling. The basis on which I tried rectifying is my

Saptamsa because that has been by far the most eventful in the recent past. My

first child a daughter was born on April 27, 2001. If you look at my Saptamsa

with the unrectified time (11:15), my Saptamsa Lagna is Leo. 5th from Leo is

Sagittarius, ruler Jupiter in Aries - that should give a boy. So, try shifting

it forward to Virgo - but that changes my Rasi Lagna to Pisces whose ruler is

exalted in the 5th - doesnt fit with my physique at all. So try shifting

backward to Cancer. Count reverse 5 from Cancer - we get Pisces, ruler again

Jupiter in Aries - that should give a boy. So it cant even be Cancer. Shift one

more back - Gemini Saptamsa Lagna - 5th is Libra, ruler Venus in Cancer - this

can be a girl which is correct. To strengthen matters further, my daughter is a

Libra ascendant, and was born in Ve/Mo. So I am assuming my Saptamsa Lagna is

Gemini, which runs between 10:48pm and 11:01pm. Is this reasoning correct? Note

too that there were 2 miscarriages subsequently in May 2002 (Sag in Saptamsa)

and August 2002 (Aq in Saptamsa) respectively. I think both fit the picture -

correct?

Trying to rectify further, I get a bit lost. I tried the Dasamsa. There are

three Dasamsa Lagna's 10:48-10:49 - Asc-Cancer, 10th from AL-Leo; 10:50-10:59 -

Asc-Leo, 10th from AL-Virgo; 11:00-11:01 - Asc-Virgo, 10th from AL-Pisces.

Pisces contains Mercury and Moon. I am a software engineer working in a

"high-thinking and logic" job with more thinking and less interaction with

people. That may fit both the Leo and Virgo Asc, right? How do I decide?

Also, from a D-24 point of view, I am perceived as being intelligent (so I

believe A5 in D-24 should be strong). Also, I am perceived as being

accomplished (lots of degrees from reputable institutions - so I guess A4 in

D-24 should also be strong). Regarding the truth (as opposed to perception), I

cant be the judge. I am unsure as to what Lagna I should choose in D-24, given

these facts.

So can a Guru help clear some of the confusion?

Jyotish for weekand, so we shall proceed in monday. For a start check,

sister's chart,

Thula Dreshkon Lagna seems to fit, since 11th lord would occupy thula

(surya neecha sister), and 9th lord occupies kumba with ketu (another sister),

So Dreskhon lagna should remain Thula.

When did you move house to the USA?

When did you marry?

If your Rashi Lagna is Kumba, Spouse should be intelligent, and have

a strong physique, looking younger. It should be love marriage. Spouse

should also be spiritual and have some tendency to go her own ways, in

a somewhay neglecting you? Is that correct? She should have either budh

lagna/chandra. See your Upapada, and fix the spouse's lagna

I am extremely grateful that you have chosen to help me in the

rectification. Here are the answers to your questions:

 

1) Move house to US: I came here on 10 August 1989. I came

for higher studies - MS and then PhD (computer science). I

completed all higher studies on November 19, 1996 when I

completed my PhD.

2) When did I marry: My marriage figures as a significant and

unconventional event of my life. I met my wife in late April 1996

during my PhD. We got married very suddenly on July 29, 1996

in Las Vegas - no friends or relatives present, just the two of us.

So yes, it was a love marriage. Later, on 10 May 1998 (2 yrs

later), we reconfirmed our marriage vows in Indian tradition in

India (in presence of both our sets of parents and other

relatives).

3) Wife's physique and demeanor: You are right. My wife is very

young looking and good looking, she is very intelligent, and she

is extremely independent and free-willed. She does not neglect

me, though - on the contrary she is very loyal to me, but she is

definitely far more free-willed and independent than the norm.

Her UNRECTIFIED birth time is 9:23pm, 20 November, 1969,

Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, India, 28N49, 79E02.

4) My Upapada is Taurus. My wife's Lagna is Cancer. I am not

sure - what am I supposed to do here?

5) Also, to clarify the exact dates of the miscarriages - first was

between May 13-15, 2002. Second was August 5-7, 2002.

Navamsa Lagna can either be Meen or Mesh, For a start, meen looks

more correct, due to upapada falling in Thula with chandra, however we

shall examine both possibilities

Navamsa can indicate this. SHukra is in cancer, and is strong due to

yuti

Now, the most important. Only Saptamsa Lagna of mithuna fits,

Shukra/Chandra/guru-vimshotari which clearly fits: Shukra is 5th lord

with

argal;

over lagna. Chandra is dispositor of 5th lord, so it can give the first

pregnancy and Guru is subhapati and aspects 5th. Your daugher should be

born in

shashti/chaturdashi tithi, or tithi ruled by

shani (saptami or poornima)

Moola dasha- Chandra/Shani/budh- Chandra is in 7th house aspecting lagna

and

holding

5th lord shukra. Shani aspects both shukra and 5th house and is strong

in own

sign.Budha is lord of

Saptamsa Lagna

Narayana Dasa of Saptamsa-Libra -5th house/pisces-guru lord aspect 5th

and

taurus-lord shukra in 2nd

Cancer lagna should better indicate narayana dasha of d-7, yet, guru

would

indicate first abortion or miscarriage

which is not the case, so we shoud reject cancer lagna.

Furtther miscarriages took place in May 13-15 2002 and august 5-7 2002

Mula dasha of mangal started. Mangal is lord of 6th house (marak for

children)

and can terminate the pregnancies

Guru antardasha was on, and guru is aspected by mangal in mesh sign

Vimshotar- Mangal antardasha is on, so that is the reason as above.

Narayan Dash of d-7- both kumba dasha (rahu ruler-stronger aspected by

both

mangal/ketu rulers of 6th house) and

second misscarriage had more chance to be sustained, yet it was makara

dasha

would could indicate 3rd pragnancy, shani is in

makar as ruler of 9th house (3rd pregnancy), Shani is in 8th house and

in 12th

from 9th, so the third pregnancy had to be

lost in, most probably around 6th month ruled by shani.The fourth

preganancy is

ruled by mangal, so he will not destroy it, yet

aspect of ketu from 7th house may pose some problems. Remedial measures

should

be taken. Fourth pregnancy may come soon

around april.

Hello Zoran,

I am awaiting you further rectification. However I have some

comments and questions:

1) I do not understand the Navamsa rectification part very well -

could you explain that further? Why must it be been Meen or

Mesha? Visti had earlier indicated that it should be Taurus, I am

not sure why.

2) What are the remedial measures for Upapada second from

AL? Why is it bad?

3) I agree wholeheartedly with you about Saptamsa Lagna being

Gemini - that is what I had reasoned earlier as well. However I

was not able to go deeper and am trying to understand your

reasoning. Also, what remedial measures should I take for the

Mars ruled pregnancy aspected by Ketu?

4) I am awaiting your further rectification in Navamsa and

deeper. My personal knowledge of my life makes me believe that

since I have lived most of my life focussing on education and

career (D-24 and D-10), and in the recent years in marriage and

childbirth (D-7 at least, perhaps D-9), these charts hold the key

to my rectification since these are the areas in which events in

my life have happened. I have not focussed at all on my religious

and spiritual side - I only started doing so since I discovered this

list - about 6-8 months ago.

were terminated. See Moola dasha of Mangal, lord of 6th house prime

Maraka for children.

Ketu aspecting mangal just indicates fear in the spouse. She should

rest and not travel during the preganancy.

The problem I have is that my marriage: 29 July 1996 sits in the Li-

Sc Narayan Dasa. Libra fits perfectly because it contains Chara

Darakaraka which is also Navamsa Upapada Lord. But Scorpio antar is

confusing. What is so special about it? Rasi dristi on Upapada? But

if so then during Aquarius antar which happened 1.5 yrs earlier ALSO

has Rasi dristi on Upapada, and in addition contains Navamsa Darapada

lord. That period was completely devoted to studies, absolutely

nothing else - so why was this period different.

 

Additionally, note that at 23:01:00, Navamsa Lagna remaining Aries,

Moon moves to Scorpio from Libra (in D-9). That seems to sit well

with Li-Sc Narayan Dasa for marriage, but the problem is that

Saptamsa Lagna also moves to Cancer, which is impossible and also

then my wife's Cancer Lagna becomes hard to explain. Ayanamsha enters

my mind here, but I dont know what really to do.

Yes. I had a major problem with Leo Lagna in Dashamsha because then

A10 becomes Cancer with exalted Jupiter and Rahu, but aspected by

Saturn and Mars. With Virgo, A10 becomes Virgo itself - Mercury with

its thinking and logic seems right. But I dont see any Mars

influence - most people I have seen in engineering companies seem to

have Mars influence on their A10. Also 10th house itself becomes

Gemini, with it's ruler Mercury debilitated in Pisces with Moon and

Rasi dristi from Venus. Still no Mars influence so I am not really

sure. 10th from AL should mean how I am perceived at work - again

Pisces with Mercury and Moon aspected by Venus. I think I am

perceived as a very good and methodical technical problem solver -

dont know how this fits in.

 

Regarding the job: I joined my first job on Dec 6, 1996 - the job

wasnt quite what I expected so I remained mostly dissatisfied. I got

and moved to a new job with a new company on Oct 10, 1997. This was

much better. I changed job within the same company in November-Dec

1998. This was even better and between Sept 1999 and all of 2000 I

did very well. After that, I am still in the same job, but the

economy is bad and although my job seems secure, confidence isnt

always there.

Throughout Shukra mahadasha, some problems or the other is seen. Shukra

is in 7th from Arudha lagna in D-10.

so from time to time, disattisfaction will crop up. Shukra is futher

connected to Guru who is in Parivarthana, so changes of job would

come due to disatisfaction with money. So I think dashamsa lagna remains

Kanya.

some points though, all focussing on not being able to understand why

the calculated Narayan dasha/antardasha actually manifested a

particular event - there appear to be many EARLIER candidate

antaradashas for the event, so what was special about the given one:

You are right, I did make a mistake. But according to my new

calculations, during the period of my marriage I went through Libra-

Sagittarius in the NAVAMSHA narayana dasa, not the RASI narayana

dasa. Am I still wrong? I cannot find anything special about

Sagittarius in Navamsha. I went through the following antaradashas

within Li: Pi, Aq, Cp, Sag. What is so special about Sag? Pi contains

exalted 7th lord. Why didnt I get married then, it came earlier? Aq

contains Navamsha darapada lord - isnt even that a candidate for

marriage? Sag only contains Saturn.

 

Also, in the RASI narayana dasa, I was going through (according to my

calculations) Li. Li has Ketu and Ar has Rahu. Neither Libra nor

Aries is aspected by Jupiter or Mercury. Libra is not aspected by

Venus, it's dispositor. Aries has 8th graha dristi of Mars from

Virgo. So Aries is stronger. It's lord Mars is in Virgo, so I start

antaradasha sequence from Virgo. Virgo is even so sequence goes

backwards. So the antardasha sequence is Vi, Le, Ca, Ge, Ta, Ar. Li

dasha is 9 yrs, so each AD is 9months. Li started in 1992. I got

married in 1996 exactly at 49 months from Li start. 49/9 = 6th sign.

So my marriage must have been in Li-Ar. Ar contains darapada. But Ta

was Upapada and that happened earlier. Why didnt I get married then?

Even before that, I went through Ca antardasha which contained Ve -

Upapada lord. Why didnt I get married then?

 

So I am still confused - the Narayana dasa scheme, from what I have

seen above, does not unambiguously show the marriage event - there

seem to be more than one suitable candidate antaradashas, both in

Navamsha and Rashi. Isnt it supposed to be the most reliable phalita

dasha?

 

On the other hand, if you take Vimshottari, I got married in Ve-Ve-

Ve, within 4 months of the start of the Venus mahadasha (using a

23:00:00 time).

after completing 30 years of age (June 1997). The antaradasha

sequence since then has been:

Ca: Ju97-Mar98

Ge: Mar98-Dec98

Ta: Dec98-Sep99

Ar: Sep99-Jun00

Pi: Jun00-Mar01

Cp: Mar01-Dec01

Aq: Dec01-Sep02

According to the above I changed job (positive) in Ca, then in (also

positive, within the same company) Ge. Ca is 2nd from AL, 11 from A10

(Virgo Lagna). Ge is in AL, and 10th from A10. Why did the changes

occur? According to my understanding, job changes show up in Narayana

antardashas that are in Dusthanas from A10. Depending on whether that

are friendly or inimical to AL, they are positive or negative. So I

dont understand the antardasha sequence. Also, my maximum growth was

in Ar which is 11th from AL (gains to image - correct), but 8th from

A10 (dont understand).

Unfortunately, you seem to get something wrong about the calculations.

Do again examine Sanjay's book

on Narayana dasha.. See beter Vimshotari, budha/ guru gave you such

excellentce. Both well placed from

Arudha Lagna and from lagna..

Now, we have narrowed down your chart till D-24.. Hope it satisfiies you..

Dear Zoran,

Thank you very much for your help in rectification. I have

understood several things by watching your procedure. I am still

confused about Narayan Dasa calculation - I thought I had done it

correctly according to the resources available on this group - but I

am now getting the Narayan Dasa book as you recommended.
