Meaning of yogakaraka

Namaste friends,

Someone asked about yogakarakas. I'll say one thing on the concept

behind it.

Yoga means "joining and being together".

In any chart, quadrants are supposed to be the seats of Vishnu

(Hindu deity of sustenance). They govern the effort.

Similarly, trines are supposed to be the seats of Lakshmi (Vishnu's

wife). They govern the fruits.

When Lakshmi and Narayana join together, it is a yoga (joining). It

indicates the coming together of efforts and fruits!

So raja yoga is formed when a quadrant lord and trine lord join in a

chart.

Similarly, if the same planet rules a quadrant and a trine, he

presents the potential of yoga (joining of Vishnu and Lakshmi or

effort and fruits). So he is said to be yoga karaka (one who causes

yoga).

May Jupiter's light shine on us,

Narasimha

not every sign has the same planet as both a kendra and trikona lord.

eg: Why is moon called a yogakaraka for scorpio lagna.

Dear

Vaijayuma,

YK

means owner of a trine and kendra. Luminaries can never be a YK as they both

rule one house each.

Namaste,

Swee
