Guest guest
Pranama, The concept of unequal house system is existed in vedic astrology, but often Bhava chart is not considered in detail. The Sage Sripathy has elaborated the way of findings bhava, in a similar fashion like Porphyry (but in Sripathy method, cusp is assumed as mid-point of house or bhav-madhya). The Sripathy House System has its disadvantage too, i.e. in this system Kendar bhavas (1,4,7,10) are often length of 30 degrees, therefore Krishnamurthi preferred Placidus, which is more scientific. While some school of thought remain take equal house system. Another use of bhava chart is in computing Residential Strength of grahas, which is the ratio of two distances and reveals the closeness of grah to mid point. B.V.Raman mentioned the formula for residential strength (R.S) is as follows; * If the graha occur in the first phase of a bhav(in poorva bhaga) i.e. lies between beginning point (Arambha Sandhi) and mid point (Bhav Madhya) then R.S = ( Bhav Madhya - Grah ) / (Bhav Madhya - Arambha Sandhi ) * If the graha occur in the second portion of a bhav (in uttara bhaga) i.e. lies between mid point (Bhav Madhya) and ending point (Vimra Sandhi) then R.S = ( Bhav Sandhi - Grah ) / ( Bhav Sandhi - Bhava Madhya ) Jagannatha Hora Lite software computes Residential Strength for all grahas and up-grahas. Either the applied formula is same as B.V. Raman mentioned or differ from above. And the most important thing is that JHL use which house system; Sripathy, Placidus or Equal( in which lagna longitudes is ranked to all bhavas). Please inform me the formula for R.S which is used in JHL and house system too. Regards M.Imran Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable.
