Selecting Gems

Dear and Respected List,

Pranam,

Wearing gems is assumed a powerful remedial measure, and an easy way to

eliminate arishth and strengthen desirable planetary rays. Therefor many

amongst us have gems in our fingures for the said purpose.

But the core issue is to get the most authentic and applicable way for a layman

to choose Gem. One of the oldest and widely accepted method is to consider

Moon's Sign at birth (Janm Ras) for such sort of remedial measures. But some

astrologer suggests the Gem related to Lagna may produce beneficiance for ever

and one can wear it for life time. While some experts sometimes consider

Nakshatra and Arudth lagna associated gems too.

An astrologer here in Karachi often recommend two gems at a time. One is of Janm

lagna and second is of yoga karaka. For example an Aquarius lagna native should

wear Sapphire(Saturn related stone) with Dimond (associated with Venus) and

Pisces ascendant native should wear Topaz with Coral as so on for others. The

logic behind it is both lagna lord and yoga karaka both happene friends and

help each other and cover mojor houses of the chart. He also says that one

should not wear gems of two enimical planets, for example Ruby should not wear

with Sapphire in a same hand, or Topaz with Emerald.

I want to ask that is this theory have some wieght or any other existed method

can be prove more beneficial, if so please do tell.

Dear Mohammed,

The astrologer is on the right track.The logic is that Yogakarakas being lords

of trine and Lagnesh being Lord of both trine and quadrant would prove

beneficial, as any connection of trinal and Quadrant lord causes rajyoga.

The only flaw that I can see is that many a times the other house owned by a

Lord of Ascendant falls in either Trishadai or other evil houses so the results

could go awry.

I personally wearing gems relating to trinal lord properly placed would be the

right aproach and if the Trinal lord is yogakaraka by virtue of being both

trinal and Quadrant Lord ,it is the best planet whose gem should be worn.

However there are different practices being followed and strengths of the

planets have also to be considered while prescribing the Gems.
