Guest guest
Dear lerned Gurus and list members, I understand that a natural malefic/benefic can have benefic/malefic actions according the lagna. I have two questions however : 1- When looking at a chart, in what area does the natural tendency manifest and the functional tendency manifest? For example in a Ge lagna, Ju being lord of two kendra houses is a functional malefic, or even more so for a Li lagna. Will Ju be then harmful everywhere or in some areas only? I would guess, for example that Ju will still bring some inherent goodness (unless deeply afflicted) but will harm the house he conjoins or aspects but not the one he owns... Please comment... 2- Does the functional status (of the rasi) remain for all the divisional charts or does it change from one divisional chart to another? I would think (in fact it is only a wish) that the functional status would change from one varga to another. Another unrelated question. As the rasi is the main chart, it would be incorrect to analyse an area only with the corresponding varga. The seed is the Rasi. But this suggest then that whatever positive or negative effect we find in the varga, there should be a clue from the Rasi through the karaka, the bhava and the aspects-argala on them. And vice-versa. Please comment... Franck
Guest guest
Dear Franck, Here is the analogy I gave earlier: A natural benefic who becomes a functional malefic is like a nice person who is going against you. He will be decent, but hurt you. A natural malefic who becomes a functional benefic is like a crutel person who helps you. He will be crutel and mean, but help you. Functional nature depends on lagna. Just as we interpret each divisional chart based on its own lagna, the functional nature has to be identified based on that lagna. For Rajiv Gandhi, for example, Jupiter is a functional benefic in rasi and dasamsa. In Jupiter antardasa in Rahu dasa, for example, he rose in career (D-10) and experienced power (5th) in the physical plane (rasi) too. However, Jupiter is a functional malefic in D-12. He experienced misfortune relating to mother - she was assassinated. The same planet can give good results in one sphere of life and very bad results in another. Guest guest
I think natural benefics effects are affected in static or permenant way such as aspects of Jupiter is always benefic.also when planet is in transit, based on its natural benefic or malefic, result will be felt. Functional effects are more observed in when that planets dasha starts .That means affects of functional beneficness or maleficness are dynamic. If that planet is fucntionally malefic based on lagna, result of malefic during his dasha or antardasha. Please correct me.
