Guest guest
Namaste friends, I wrote an article a while ago on the importance of Vedic financial new year chart (lunar new year chart using "Thula Amanta"). This chart is cast at the end of Aswayuja Amavasya (also known as Diwali or Deepavali). In other words, this chart is cast when Sun and Moon conjoin in Libra. By making a chart for that instant at the capital of a nation, we can predict the financial matters of the nation during the year. When I looked at the compressed Vimsottari dasa of this chart, it showed a pretty good correlation with Vimsottari dasa. Just by looking at whether a planet is well-placed or ill-placed in the chart and if it has more ishta phala or kashta phala, we can predict how the stock market fares overall in the planet's dasa. The following image gives the data and the rasi chart of 2000-01 and 2001-02 charts for Washington DC. The following picture gives the Dow Jones Industrial Average (a popular stock market index) for Nov 2000-Nov 2002. Compressed Vimsottari dasa is also marked in the charts for an easy correlation and study. Let us first take 2000-01. Rahu is the 7th lord in 11th. He is a neutral planet for Leo lagna. His dasa was neutral, with a slight negative. Jupiter is a functional benefic for Leo lagna (Jupiter owns 5th and 8th - 5th is good and 8th is neutral). He is, however, weak, retrograde and, more importantly, ill-placed in the 8th from Moon. Thus his dasa could not give much gains. Then came Saturn dasa. Saturn is a functional malefic for Leo lagna. He is retrograde. He has higher kashta phala (KP) than ishta phala (IP). He gave losses. Mercury owns the 2nd house of wealth and the 11th house of gains and placed in an upachaya from lagna AL. He has IP of 52 and KP of 7. Thus his dasa was great and gave the best rise of the year. Ketu is ill-placed in 5th and gave mild losses. Venus is a functional malefic for Leo and has higher KP. However, he is a natural benefic, dispositor of Jupiter and has an exact aspect with Jupiter (within 10 arc-min). Thus some of Jupiter's beneficence is taken by Venus. Thus Venus dasa was bad, but not very bad. Sun is debilitated lagna lord, afflicted by 12th lord. He has a KP of 50 (out of 60). His dasa was quite bad. Moon dasa was even worse, as Moon owns the 12th house of losses and conjoins lagna lord closely. Moreover, Moon has the highest KP in this chart - a whopping 56! Though Mars is a yogakaraka for Leo, he is ill-placed in 2nd (not a good house for Mars to be in). Moreover, he has a higher KP than IP (46 to 14). So, the yogakaraka was not of much help. The gains were moderate. Now, let us go to the 2001-02 chart. Again lagna is Leo. Jupiter is a functional benefic for Leo. He is placed in the 9th from Moon and 11th from lagna. He owns and aspects AL (as opposed to being in the 6th from AL in the last chart). Thus he is the best planet in the chart. His dasa gave a quick growth, while it lasted. Like in the last chart, Saturn is neutral. However, while he had a higher KP in the last chart and gave losses, he has a slightly higher IP than KP now and overall, remained neutral. Like in the last chart, 2nd and 11th lord Mercury gave growth. The growth is smaller now, because IP is only slightly higher than KP (27 to 22 here as opposed to 53 to 7 in last chart). Ketu was again slightly negative. Though Venus is afflicted in this chart, as opposed to the last chart, he is in own house and that offsets it. Overall, Venus gave similar results. With a KP of 50, weak lagna lord Sun again gave some losses. He has a KP of 51 and IP of 9. Moon, 12th lord afflicting lagna lord, was even worse than in the last year's chart. He now has a KP of 60 and IP of 0. His dasa was horrible. It took the stock market from 9200 to 7400 in one month. The short Mars dasa brought brisk growth. Mars is a yogakaraka, he is exalted, and he is well-placed in 6th. Then Rahu dasa brought losses. Unlike in the last chart, where Rahu is alone, he afflicts Jupiter here. Thus he ended up giving bad results. Finally, when Jupiter dasa came, he gave gains, being the well-placed (11th from lagna, 9th from Moon) functional benefic. * * * This is not perfect and I am sure there are a few missing links still, but this is the theory that comes closest to explaining things cleanly. With a little more research, who knows, we may be able to crack the puzzle.... May Jupiter's light shine on us, PVR Attachment: (image/gif) 20002001.GIF [not stored] Attachment: (image/gif) djia0102.gif [not stored]
