Guest guest
Aum Namah Sivaya Hello Chintan, Among the divisional charts some of them are regular. Navamsa is one of them. This means that there is no break in the reckoning navamsas. For preparing the Navamsa, you need the degrees of the planets or the nakshatra padas in which they are placed. If you have the degrees of the planets, the do the following: 1. Devide the degrees (after expunging the signs) by 3deg 20min or 3.333...deg or 200min (This is arrived by dividing the rasi duration 30deg by 9, no. of navamsas) 2. Round up the quotient to the higher integer. This is the navamsa passed by the planet in that sign. 3. Now start counting the following way: a. If the planet is placed in a movable sign, then count from the same sign itself. b. If the planet is placed in a fixed sign, then count from the 9th from it. c. If the planet is placed in dual sign, the count from the 5h from it. Lets take an example. Jup is placed in 5deg (300 min) Aries. Dividing 5 by 3deg 20min (or 200min) we get 300 min/200 min = 1.5. Rounding this up to the higher integer, we get the quotient as 2. So the Jup is in the 2nd Navamsa of Aries. As Aries is a Movable sign, we start counting from the sign itself and we arrive at Taurus as the Navamsa where Jup is placed. I will show you why Navamsa is regular. The nine navamsas for Aries spans from Aries to Sagittarius. The next navamsa should fall in Capricorn. Now you see that Taurus is a fixed sign and the first navamsa should start from the 9th from it. The ninth from Taurus is Capricorn, which is the next navamsa of sagittarius where we stopped for Aries. Because there is exactly one to one mapping of the nakshatra pada and the navamsa, you can find the navamsa if the nakshatra pada of the planet is known. Just count which pada is it from the start of the sign and place the planet in that Navamsa. For example say Jup is in 2nd pada of Aswini. This is 2 pada away from the start of the sign Aries. So Jup will be in the 2nd Navamsa of Aries, which happens to be Taurus. Please get back if you have any other doubt.
