I have studied the system of ashtakavarga teached on the astrologyand events list. Our teacher used an unusual ayanamsa. (about Lahiri - 1°01'). He got this ayanamsa from his own guru. I have read another astrologer, Mr Bhasin, used a close ayanamsa (Lahiri - 1°07'). It is mentioned in the foreword in one of his books. Is such an ayanamsa mentioned in the classics? In the oral transmission, do we find such an ayanamsa?
