Guest guest
Dear SP: A vargottama planet becomes extra strong, and bestows excellent results during its dasa provided it is well posited in the natal chart, i.e., it is not either debilitated or in an enemy's sign (now it raises an interesting question about the planets, which though are not in an inimcal sign, but in a sign not conducive to their disposition, e.g., sun in cancer - though sun is in its friend moon's sign, but sun's placement in cancer is not considered good. What will be the vargottama implication for sun in this case ??). A debilitated or otherwise ill placed planet even if it is vargottama is not capable of expressing itself well. On the contrary, its negative significations will be accentuated by virtue of its being vargottama in navamsa. Coming to the second part, yeah, a vargottama planet usually occupies the same rasi not only in the navamsa, but also in a few other divisional charts as well. This happens because such a planet is normally either at the beginning ( close to zero degree) or the end (28 degree or more) of a zodiac sign. Such a planet is also normally in rasi sandhi, but if it gets repeated in the same sign in several divisions, it is naturally a blessing, subject of course to the usual caveat: it should not be spoiled in the rasi. The results will be that of a vargottama planet only, i.e., very good results during the dasa of the concerned planet. I would request gurus to kindly enlighten us more on this very profound, but controversial subject. Controversial because a lot of reputed astrolgers like James Braha, don't acknowledge the phenomenon of vargottama. But Shri Sanjay guru ji has been quite emphatic about the positive impact of such a position. Some more thoughts would be extremely welcome. Guest guest
Dear Prakash, To my knowledge the term Vargottama only applies to planets that fall into the same sign in the rasi and D-9 charts. When a planet is situated in its sign of exaltation, moolatrikona or it's own sign in various divisional charts this definitely has meaning. The greater the number the of placements the better the situation for whatever the planet signifies. This information is provided on pages 35 - 43 in Krishna Kumar's book The Secrets of the Vargas. I know it can be found in BPHS and/or Jamini's work but I can't lay my hands on it right now. Guest guest
Hare Rama Krsna. What if Mercury is lord of 12th in own house and in Simhasanamsa (5/10 Vargas own sign, exalted or mooltrikona)? I have them all in Gemini, and using Deva-datta ayanamsa it would even be 6 out of 10. Guest guest
I know of a chart with mercury being the most malefic for the native and is in the same rasi in 4/16 charts, exalted in 1 and debilitated in 1 and in own house in 1. Also native's moon is not placed well. Native has always something to worry about and is never happy at all. On similar lines, my surmise would be that you should be having perennial expenditures. bhatt. vedic astrology, "Dhira Krsna BCS" <Dhira.Krsna.BCS@p...> wrote: > Hare Rama Krsna. > > What if Mercury is lord of 12th in own house and in Simhasanamsa (5/10 > Vargas own sign, exalted or mooltrikona)? Guest guest
Hi, I have exalted mercury in rasi chart. It is in the same virgo sign in 5/10 vargas, but not in navamsa and dasamsa. In my case it is 2nd and 11 th houses lord(Leo lagna). It has given excellent benifits in its antradasa(moon-mercury). Here my moon is placed in first house.I got excellent gains, foreign trips, gains through friends, excellent benifits to the family, got interest in astrology and good recognisation. Here the most important thing is Mercury has promoted it's two houses(2nd and 11th) matters very well. Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Namaste Visti, Thanks for your reply and Sagittarius Narayana Dasa indeed was slightly tricky, but Pisces Narayana Dasa was just fantastic. Infact, it's Saturn and Mercury antardasas which occasioned life- threatening events and the one or two rare occasions when I fell ill in the 42 years of my life. Ofcourse, it's a different story that I have always emerged unscathed and even stronger physically after these events. And I have always been very very healthy and have high levels of stamina. Now, if Jupiter, being the lagna lord, is in such a sorry state, I can hardly be so, unless you feel that strong Sun can account for this. Anyway, my Jupiter Mahadasa will start only in 2010 and let's wait and see what would unfold. Visti, why I asked this particular question was whether the planet that just entered a sign (baalavastha and perhaps gandanta in some cases)and the one that went back to begining of the sign because of retrogression, can be judged the same? In the first case, the planet is clearly young and immature, but what about the second case? I feel that there (s)would be some difference...and it's certainly not because I have this combination:-) Regards, Lakshmi vedic astrology, "Visti Larsen" <vishnu@l...> wrote: > Om Jum Sah. Guest guest
Dear Bhatt, >On similar lines, my surmise would be that you should be having >perennial expenditures. 12th house signifies more than only expenditures. Indeed, I don't have have big expenses, and the money matters are quite fortunate as well. However, look at my 12th house as signifying spiritual life, connection to spiritual organizations, spiritual initiation and the like, and you hit the right button. I'm living in a temple and am a priest, and all expenses are paid by temple authority. Your sishya, Dhira Krsna dasa
