Guest guest
Dear Imran, > 1) Generally in Panchang, all the five elements are given for > each day of year.i.e. details of Vara, Karana, Nakshatra, Thithi > and Yoga(sun-moon daily yogas) are given. But the > lords of 11-Karanas, 15-Thithis and 27-Yogas are often not > mentioned, though their effects, category, types and yoni etc > are described. Would you or anyone else can simply laydown the > name of lords of Karana, Thithi and Yoga. Here's what tradition teaches: (1) Karanas: From Bava to Vishti, they are ruled by Sun to Saturn, in weekday lord order. The last four are ruled by Brahma, Hari, Hara and Aditya, who are represented by the lords of the four quadrants in order. (2) Tithis: Pratipat to Ashtami are ruled by Sun to Rahu in weekday lord order (with Rahu added at the end). Navami to Chaturdasi are ruled by Sun to Venus in weekday lord order. Pournima is ruled by Saturn and Amavasya by Rahu. (3) Yogas from Vishkumbha to Vaidhriti are ruled by planets from Saturn to Jupiter in the order of Vimsottari dasa lords. How to know the tithi, karana, yoga, vara and nakshatra on a given day? All panchangas give it. My free software "Jagannatha Hora Lite" gives them too. I am not actually sure of the current release version, but the new version to be released soon gives them all. > 2) In answering Prashana, Besides transits, which system of > Dasa (planetary period) is used, wether Regular or Compressed > Vimshottari, or all different sort of Dasas are applicable too. I am not an expert in prasna. Do read Prasna Marga, Prasna Padavi, Krishneeyam etc classics for sophisticated timing techniques. May Jupiter's light shine on us, PVR (aka Narasimha)
