Namaste Visti,

 

AS I understand it, Parasara discusses Ashtakvarg

towards the end of his book; this suggests that he

favors the Vimshottari Dasa System as the preimment

system of predictive Astrology that he advocates, but

he does mention to his student that he will give him a

quick, snapshoit method for giving sound and reliable

predictions - this is Ashtakvarga.

 

Though Ashtakvarga can be used to great success, K.N.

Rao says that we should ALWAYS check up the Dasas to

see what the overall tenor and tone of the person's

life at that time is, before turning to the

Ashtakvarga.

 

Hope this conrtibutes something to the colloquiy.
