Aum Namah Shivaya

Dear Robyn,

I read your post about Ketu and Mars in the Ascendant. I had

encountered at least three NADI SOURCES/READINGS suggesting loss

through theft, some loss (symbolic or actual) related to spouse,

around the 35th (or 36th) year for a similar combination. Another

source mentions rectal disorder like piles for this combination (In

conventional Jyotish, Ketu in the 8th or even Mars and Saturn in the

8th are considered to give rectal disorders/piles/fistula/bladder

troubles). Also indicated in some texts is- more than one marriage

(at least two major relationships equivalent to marriage), for Ketu

and Mars in the asc. Mostly the above-mentioned ideas are from NADI

READINGS. I wonder if any of the above holds true in your case. I am

especially interested in any interesting event in the 35th or 36th

year in particular (of course only if you wish to disclose). One nadi

reading mentioned that the man was married twice to the same wife, as

she lost her Mangala Sutra in her 36th year due to theft (this is the

symbolic loss), and that the husband tied another Mangala sutra. In

fact the Tamil commentators (one was the well known scholar

C.G.Rajan) of a particular reading give two example charts from their

collection, other than the chart in the Nadi, mentioning that both

the natives lost their Mangala Sutras due to theft in their 35th and

36th years respectively, both of whom had Ketu and Mars in the Asc.

C.G.Rajan opines that the association of Rahu and Mars with the 7th

(Rahu in the 7th and Mars aspecting from the first) causes

some 'bhanga' to marriage through thieves. I was wondering how the

theft of the Mangala sutra would be interpreted in a western context.

Theft of wedding ring??? Anyway I thought that this information might

be of some interest to someone with a similar combination. While some

Nadi texts/readings give such predictions based on one or two

factors, conventional Jyotish would cross-check other areas before

venturing to predict on the basis of just a factor or two.

Satya

situation in my chart where Ketu is conjoined Mars in Mercury's Virgo

lagna. Mars is the worst malefic for Virgo, plus Ketu sitting there

as well forming a Pisach yoga, its been quite a life. Lots of Karma

paid back. But my semi-sarpa yoga definitely broke at exactly 45 and

my life got better from then on in many ways.

dear Dr Satya Prakash Choudhary,

Thank you for your interesting post. It certainly rings true in my case. Of

course, one has to take into account many factors of the chart, as you know,

and I have been 'saved' many times by divine intervention as indicated by a

number of factors in my chart, including a marvellous vipareet yoga which

never lets me down.

How one would re-interpret the Mangala sutra loss for western society I

don't know. But this is precisely the type of research that I am interested

in. In counselling western clients in south africa it hardly goes down well

to tell them they lost their mangala sutra, they haven't a clue what I am

talking about. So...one of my main interests now is language and how the

Jyotish interpretations can be accurately and correctly translated into a

modern, western context. If you have any further research in connection to

this I would be most grateful. You could post it off list if needs be.

For any further private information on the facts of my life as per Ketu/Mars

I would be only to happy to send it to you offlist if you wish.

Best wishes

Robyn
