List members gave me various astrological & spiritual answers. But still were some q’s left unanswered. Next day in bharatiya vidya bhavan, I saw a book in which it was written ..’as the classical siddhanta texts state that farthest point is the exaltation point & nearest point is the debilitation point.’ It confirmed what that person told me. He is acharya avinash ji of future point ,he has a sound knowledge of astronomy & mathematics too. But, Book doesn’t stop there nor avinash ji…. They both say…due to changing orbits of planets, both points have changed. Sun is farthest when it is in Gemini. Book raises this question that we consider ayanamsa correction bcoz it is very much prominent. But we have never thought of this aspect. There is indeed a great difference o0f 5000 years between then & now. Sanjay ji I want u to think about it very openmindedly & then reply prashant New DSL Internet Access from SBC & http://sbc. Guest guest
Hi Prashant, Before I or anyone else here accepts your hypothesis, please ask your friend whether the distance of the sun from the earth will be any different on Dec 21 than it is on Jun 21. Your pal may be under the notion that it is. Jun 21, the summer solstice of the northern hemisphere, is the longest day and is popular with those who want to frolic on the beach for long, just as the winter solstice Dec 21 is popular for weddings (longest night ). Ask your friend as to why then doesn't he believe that Sagittarius should be the house of exaltation for the southern hemisphere because it is summer then. It is also tough to explain how the farthest point can necessarily be the point of greatest influence... unless you boil water at home by sunlight rather than a nearer source of heat! If you add a dose of myth to astronomy, you can certainly draw up a credible-looking astrological theory. It might not work that way, though. And there was this cute, wordy post by an Aussie doc hereabouts in reply to the credibility of astrology itself. Read through that. It might answer some more questions.
