Exalted Planet in Moola Dasha Calculation

Dear Gurus,

 

If a planet is exalted when Moola dasha is being computed from Lagna,

what would be its duration computed as ?

 

Example:

Venus in Pisces. Reduction is (1-1+1 => 1)

Moola dasha: 20 years minus 1 = 19 years

or

Moola dasha should be taken as 20 years full ?

Dear Raj,

If Venus is in Pisces the Moola dasa calculation will be as

follows:

Count from Pisces to Libra, the moolatrikona of Venus

=8-1(Standard reduction)+ 1(for exaltation) = 8

 

Moola Dasha of Venus = 20-8 = 12 yrs.

Sorry. I made a mistake in my original post.

 

Please take Mercury exalted in Virgo. Its exalted in its Mooltrikona

sign. How do we proceed in that case ?

Dear Raj,

If Mercury is in Virgo then the count is = 12.

Moola Dasa of Mercury = 17-12 = 5 yrs
