Guest guest
Can someone give details on Satabdika dasa. I heard for people with vargottam ascendent, it is the most appropriate dasa to be used. In his kalachakra dasa tutorial, Narasimhaji mentions this dasa as one of the various dasas he uses (but considers it to be inferior to Kalachakra dasa). Thanks. Siva. Guest guest
Om Krishna Guru, Dear Siva, You can refer Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra Chapter 48 Shlokas 32 to 34 for information on Shatabdika Dasa. Pt Sanjay Raths latest book on Udu Dasa also covers the same. There are some helpful ready made tables in the index to help you compute the dasa. Here is the method to compute Shatabdika dasa. Count the number of nakshatras from Revati nakshatra to the birth nakshatra(nakshetra occupied by the Moon) and divide by 7.The remainder will indicate the dasa lord in the following order Remainder Planet Years 1 Sun 5 2 Moon 5 3 Venus 10 4 Mercury 10 5 Jupiter 20 6 Mars 20 7 or 0 Saturn 30 -------- Param Ayus =100yrs Find the fraction of the Nakshetra yet to be traversed by the Moon and multiply it with the dasa years of the planet as shown above. That will give you the dasa balance at birth. After finding the dasa balance at birth follow the above order for the remaining dasas. Example: Consider a person with a vargottama lagna and Moon in Virgo at 168 degrees 02 min in Hasta nakshetra.Counting from Revati to Hasta we get 14. 14 divided by 7 we get 0 remainder. According to the table above Saturns dasa was running at birth.Hasta nakshetra finishes at 173 degrees 20 min. Therefore portion of Hasta left is = 5 degrees and 18 min. Fraction of Hata left = .3975 Therefore remainder of Saturn Dasa = 30*0.3975= 11.925 years = 11yrs 11 months 3days The antardasa will follow the same order and will start from the Mahadasa lord. The periods will be in the same proportion. Example: Venus antardasa in Venus Mahadasa = (10/100)*10 = 1 yr Jupiter antardasa in Venus Mahadasa = (20/100)*10= 2yrs Try and apply these calculations to a horoscope with vargottama lagna. regards Bharminder > Can someone give details on Satabdika dasa. > I heard for people with vargottam ascendent, it is the most > appropriate dasa to be used. > > In his kalachakra dasa tutorial, Narasimhaji mentions this dasa as > one of the various dasas he uses (but considers it to be inferior to > Kalachakra dasa). > > Thanks. > Siva.
