When the Asc Lord also rules a Trik Houseit usually means things for that house tend to go well, unless other factors come into play, which is why one always has to study carefully how the Asc Lord is aspected and placed. Also, there is the question of house rulership and natural planetary state, and, friendship/enmity. For example, say you have a Sag Asc. Now, for a Sag Asc, the Sun and Mars rule the 9 and 5 houses, respectively. But, both planets are natural malefics, meaning that they would have to bring some degree of difficulty into the life of the Sag native. However, the Sun and Mars are also great friends of the Asc Lord Jupiter. So, there is a great deal of ease of flow between all of these planets. On the other hand, Venus rules the 6 and 11 houses, which, depending on where Venus is and how it is aspected, can be quite problematic for the Sag native. Because Venus is a Trik Lord compounded (11 house is 6 houses away from the 6 house - Bhavat Bhavam), it's association or aspect with Jupiter can be very troublesome, especially in the area of relationships, since Venus is the natural planet of such things.
