Lots of fire now-a-days, why I could not understand. Last day when I wrote

"Islam and Astrology" just to clarify the general perspective about the status

of astrology in Islamic society as the answer of a question asked by one of our

group friend. Readers and members know this was just an effort insisting an

urgent reform among Muslim savants so that astrology can be given its right

place in muslim community, it was not a praise or insult of any one. Neither I

used single word aginst any religion, caste or creed nor I insulted any belief.

But , I've received many mails(even directly not via vedic astrology group) full

of strong words and abhorrence (and I should not repeate those words). Even

though I've explained many a times that this group was built in order to serve

and propagate the Parashara's knowledge.

Many Gurus of the vedic tradition indicated hatred, narrow mindedness and

prejudice as the disease of human soul and against the Sattawa as well. Please

sinserely think and decide, Are they solution of anything? I hope a great

number of list agree to the notion that vedic principles can not permit us to

abolish Ahensa. Through this message I am again requesting you all that do

criticize but in proper manner and at right place. Please don't degrade any

belief and dont hurt anyone, Is this not the teechings of Lord Krishna?

Dear Muhammad,

There are people in both our countries who are extremists and fanatics.

It is they who cause the harm and spread hatred like poison. I think both

our cultures have an exaggerated and heightened sense of each other's arudha

lagnas. In fact, since you are a scholar of history you will know that

all world religions have fallen into the trap of creating a status quo

and a rigid establishment. Remember what happened to the church in the

West during the medieval era. In fact, the concept of a secular constitution

was born simply to counter the terror of the church. I would urge

you to be strong and ignore the 'irrelevant' and hate mail you receive

both on and off list and to continue with your scholarly pursuits.
