Dear Group Members,

I t was really enlightening and interesting

to read the various opinions about saturn and about sade sati some days ago.We

do often say ohh this mean shani or ohh God my saturn began now its going to be

bad.Though there could be a different way of looking at things. Our life is a

series of experiences in which we go through ups and downs but all for the

reason of learning. The sooner and with least resistence we learn the easier and

milder our lessons get.I would say that nothing like the sade sati to teach us

the lessons we are here to learn.Saturn is a great teacher and children in

school often hate thier teachers when they get strict with us....

I recently finished expereincing my sade

sati. When I began I too said I hate shani for doing this to me.Seven and a half

years later I thank him, for this has been the most amazing seven and a half

years of my life.I lost everything that was dear to me and found my true

soul. All we need to do in our ''worst times'' is look at what they are here to

teach and learn it with as little resistence as possible and the same time can

become a time of great learning and adventure and a fullfilling time for our

spiritual growth.

Just pay your respects to shani and move

along it is nt that bad..

PMmean selfish,unpredicatable Saturn

Dear Farrukhnauman...

I really like the way you gave that little ditty on how:

"Only if Venus, lord of ascendant and lord of seventh are in a favourable

contact, then they can favour a nice relationship"

Still on the topic of Saturn...

You have mentioned that Saturn is mean and selfish

May I ask.... Is it that when Saturn is dignified or and /or well aspected ...

(and even necessary in a spiritualist chart...including Saturn's much needed

detachment vibe...(especially on moon) for a Sanyasi.)... that he can "sober"

the chart in a less "mean and selfish" way?

One case I know of is a Sanyasi renunciate with exalted Saturn in the 5th with

Sun, and Saturn's aspect on his moon.

This person is famous for his intelligent, personable public relations and

cultured "Libra" ways, heavily involved in writing and directing theatre, being

featured in high profile movie documentaries, nothing dark or dreary in his

chart! But yet he is one of the few Canadians who has walked across

Canada!..."..which is the longest road! (Now that would be a Saturnian trait!)

and also impeccable sadhana for many

years ...about 34 years...also he was never married + ,thusly celibate!

May-be you could present some astrological thoughts/examples as to when Saturn

is nicely placed?...and what would be examples of a total brutal "Mean and

Selfish Saturn!...

I have Saturn in 6th aspected by Mars in 12th!

"Often, people with a strong Saturn try to either check their partner's

sincerity with their own psycho ways or they just start ignoring their partner

when they are fed up of him/her..."

I think that I may have to admit to doing this!...(just a little! bit though!!!)

Would that be "good"in the malefics are in dusthanas? They have to be somewhere,no?...lol

My info...September 26,1958...23:27(PM)...Montreal ,Quebec Canada

any suggestions???(!)

Every planet has a nature. Saturn is described by different texts in

different ways but there are some traits that most of them agree on.

Without going into details, I want to tell you that one must not

forget that saturn is the great malefic. Why would people call it a

great malefic, if it had been so good for human relationships?

Personally, I think that saturn can make you a hard worker,

determined, philosopher, etc (according to the sign and house it is

in) but care must be taken when talking about relationships.

I've read many commentaries on saturn and now I've come to a view

that saturn likes to be the best. Some people say that this is

because it is the outermost planet (these people don't consider the

last three planets). They say that it marks the boundary of the

solar system and so, this is in his control to limit the powers of

other planets. This is really complicated! There are a lot of ways,

you can predict saturn's nature.

But the bottom line is that most of the texts accept that saturn is

emotionless, very dry. Relationships are based on emotions. Saturn

alone can take your mind off these emotions and make you a great

mystic, sufi or philosopher. But when saturn is aspected by venus,

then it gets the necessary emotions. I don't say that I am

absolutely true about this but I've come to this view after some

experience.

Its hard to quote examples depicting the different characteristics

of this planet. I haven't seen any strong saturn in the last few

days. If I see it, I'll definitely tell you about it.

About your horoscope, its quite good. By the way, I also have a

gemini ascendant. You may have some problems with your back. Stomach

problems are also indicated. Your seventh lord is in 7th, and 7th

lord which is venus is in 3rd. Its good. Your partner might be

religious or philosophic. Your partner also fears you because your

lord of ascendant is 12th from her lord. You might've also helped

her in her career or profession. Both of you are likely to have some

health problems. She likes you a lot, since her lord jupiter has

full aspect on your ascendant and since she is in your fifth, so you

like her toooo, not at the normal level but maybe at some

romeo/juliet level.

I hope this helps.

You can contact me on private email as I am leaving this group.

Why is it that most of people here are geminis. I am a gemini too.

William Lilly, says that saturn rules the airy triplicity. If any

planet is placed in its triplicity it is very strong. Lilly wrote

this too. Lilly also wrote that any planet if strong, gives minimum

bad effects. William Lilly is the leading astrologer of renaissance

period.

So, how can you say that your saturn is evil. I wouldn't say that

your mars is strong but since its in trine to ascendant, so, it

isn't weak either.

Saturn in aquarius is very strong. If a malefic occupies its own

house, it doesn't give the bad effects. Thats pure common sense. No

matter how evil a person is, he will never destroy his own house.

When a planet occupies one of the two houses it owns, it gives the

effect of that house more which it occupies. Thats common sense too.

If a planet is dignified as saturn is in aquarius and house 9, then

it gives the effects of the better of the two houses it owns. House

9 is better than 8th. Aquarius is also the moolatrikona sign of

saturn.

I think its clear. I really like western astrology but there are

some Indian concepts that I incorporate too. But overall, I guess

you can a better idea of saturn if you read Alan Leo's book. I guess

you would've already read Lilly and Leo's book. If you haven't then

you should read them. They are one of the best books on astrology

ever. My teachers who claim to practice Indian astrology, have read

these two books in detail and really recommend them for all Indian

astrologers.

Leo thinks about saturn highly and you can judge saturn's nature

from him.

I hope this helps.
