Guest guest
Hello all, Some one gave me a remedy which I traced on the internet to stem from "Lal Kitab". What is "Lal Kitab" and what is it's relationship to the systems of astrology discussed in this newsgroup i.e. Parasari (?) and Jaimini(?), correct. What is it's origin? Is it in your experiences: contradictory, complementary, less powerful, more powerful or none of the above? Thank you in advance, VAS
Guest guest
Lal Kitab is the book many astrologers use it for advicing the remedial measures. Many times these remedial measures work also. These remedies are very easy to follow ,some people do tell these as Totakas in general parlance. I really doubt that there is a ref of this book in Vedic Astrology. Somewhere I read that the source of this book is ancient IRAN (Persia) Though I am not sure about this and at this present moment I am not able to recall it. Also we should be careful to adapt Satvik Remedy rather than adapting Tamsik...But do know several people for them these have worked.. Guest guest
Dear Vistiji, I see two possibilities here. Either your first sentence is figuratively trying to describe and dismiss my attempts at understanding my problems. Or your first sentence is literally describing remedies cited in Lal Kitab, which you believe cannot work. I wonder which one of the above sentences captures your true intent? My original intent for posting the question still remains the same - for the time being at least - so I am going to repeat it because I still have most of my questions answered: Much as it might appear that way, I am not looking for a quick vote of approval on the Lal Kitab so I can jump into mechanical execution of its remedies. I am simply trying to evaluate it. Lal Kitab seems to have fairly condensed information (from what I've seen on the internet). Is this information accurately condensed or summarized from the bigger works (e.g. BPHS, JUS) that this group's learned members base their predictions upon? Or is it an independent information source - and if so, how does it compare to to the bigger works cited earlier - are their mutual contradictions or not? Thanks in advance, VAS Thank you, VAS vedic astrology, "Visti Larsen" <vishnu@l...> wrote: > Vyam Vyasadevaaya Namah > > -- ------------ > > Dear VAS, > throwing coal in a lake or digging roots out of a burial ground, will not bring you closer to god, and thats the only way to really get rid of karma. > Best wishes, Visti. > - > vedicastrostudent > vedic astrology > Sunday, August 18, 2002 9:22 PM > [vedic astrology] Historical question on an existing system of astrology > > > Hello all, > Some one gave me a remedy which I traced on the internet to stem > from "Lal Kitab". Guest guest
Om sri hanumate namah, lal kitab as far as I know ( the little I could extract from my father who is an astrologer himself but refuses to read our charts ) was originally in Persian as far as i remember and most of it is by word of mouth-there must have been some calculations involved too- and thus has many interpretations. Its said once when the british ruled India one of the officers' children fell very sick and did not respond to any treatment- at that point in time an expert on lal kitab suggested a remedy and it worked .lal kitab shot into prominence thence.Right now it has become a compendium of simple remedial measures. And none of the interpretations of the kitab offer any logic behind it. thus a lot of confusion.Anyway the bottomline is the suffering person is open to try anything and thats just about it. regards, rambha. - Visti Larsen vedic astrology Monday, August 19, 2002 6:43 PM Re: [vedic astrology] Historical question on an existing system of astrology Vyam Vyasadevaaya Namah Dear VAS, throwing coal in a lake or digging roots out of a burial ground, will not bring you closer to god, and thats the only way to really get rid of karma. Guest guest
Jaya Jagannatha Dear Rajinder ji Gurudev Sanjay ji is very emphatic on NOT using any remedies prescribed by Lal Kitab as they are Tamasic in nature. This goes back to basics as to why a living entity suffers? We suffer on account of the Karmic reactions of our past lives. Now the only way that is even mitigated or reduced is by increasing God Consciousness. As Jyotishas our primary responsibility is to help the living entity develop their spiritual life, because that would be a permanent cure for their problems. On the other hand if we adopt or recommend Tamasic methods of solving problems, we are only adding to an existing load of Bad Karma. There is no use in curing the fever which is only a symptom when the real underlying cause is a virus. So it is VERY important for us to avoid such remedies which may contribute to additional Bad Karma. A good understanding of Karma and Rebirth is absolutely essential for us to guide the fallen soul toward his march toward Godhead.
