Dear Muruli,

You must be referring to the way of predicting events, well this is indeed a

hard task, and propper mastery of dasa will give the right results.

The techniques for analysing a chart is a different matter, they all compliment

each other to give the complete prediction. This is shown very subtely when

just looking at the bhava and its lord. The Bhava will show which events

dominate the area of life, and its lord will show how the bhavas fortune is

derived. Mathematical tools like balas, avastha, etc all serve their purpose,

and this will take time to master, even by me.

Most times when we get questions on the lists, they are directed towards only 1

part of life, yet the Dasa may have affected much more, hence hindsight

analysis becomes very easy in pinpointing the problems.

But let me give some insight into predictive use in events. Its common knowledge

that even thou a dasa changes, it doesn't necessarily mean that our life changes

from one day to the other. Actually the Dasa will affect our whole life in a

certain way, some parts more than others. This is seen through Argala.

Hence the Argala given by a planet, will start working from the begining of the

dasa. i.e. Jupiter in the 4th will give Sukha Argala on Lagna, Dhanargala on

3rd and Labhargala on 6th. Hence from the begining of Jupiter Dasa, The person

gets happiness from home, the siblings get wealth, the enemies become peaceful

and the subordinates are happy.

Futhermore Jupiter will give secondary Argala on the 12th house, showing good

sleep and charity, as well as the 9th house giving blessings of guru and divine

knowledge, as well as blessings from father.

And all this Argala will come from the beneficial position of Jupiter in the

home, hence see how the home, mother, lands, education, etc Karakas influence

the other areas of life, during its Dasa.

Now i have only ennunciated the effects of Argala on houses, the same will

affect other planets and lordships, and then obstruction should also be taken

into account. Hence from the begining of a Dasa ALOT happens.

Then we may take the desire of the native into account, this is shown from the

Graha Dristi of Guru on the 12th, 10th and 8th, hence the desire grow in these

areas, will be highlighted.

Then we may take into account the lordship of Jupiter, which will show which

areas of life, must be highlighted during the Dasa, whilst the conjunction and

placement will show how they are highlighted.

Now the Antara Dasa, may come along and help/obstruct the maha dasa graha in

giving the events, and the way they doso will be indicated by their placement

and lordship. Whilst their Argala will indicate the areas of life they affect.

Phew!... that was long, and i don't think i'm finished as i'm yet to get to

Avasta... this shows State and will have a subtle effect in how the planets

give their results. I.e. a graha in Mritaavastha(among the baladhi avasthas)

will not give its auspicious results, until the person almost has given up all

hope of getting the results. The Shadbala would then show to what extent the

results of the planet is felt, i.e. nill, medium or full, may have a say in

whether Venus gives fortunes like; pillows, sofas or kingsize waterbeds,

respectively.

Astakavarga is also useful, but its full usage would take some dwelving into the

topic.. Varahamihira(in Brihat Jataka) gives some interesting clues, into its

use in Vastu Shastra.

It all comes down to the understanding of Bindu.

Now in the many lines above i've not dwelved into the specifics of Bhavas, Padas

and special Lagnas, instead i've used the words "position and placement" to

satisfy the delianation of the same. These are basic and should be mastered

before entering into further delianation.

So what about Vargas?

Allready by differentiating the results of specific degrees of grahas and

lagnas, we are going into vargas, even if we don't open the varga-chakras. Yet

the perfect prediction comes from taking the vargas into account to delianate

the certain area of life.

That has to settle it for now. Learn the Bhava Karakas by hand.

Best wishes, Visti.

p.s. i'm cc'ing this to vedic astrology list for the benefit of others.

Few Doubts on Vedic Astrology

Dear Mr.Visti Larsen

I am silent member of SJVC, Vedic Astrology groups. I have a question unaswered.

If you can help me out I will be greatful to you.

It is true that Sage Parashara, Jaimini and host of others have given lot of

methods and techniques to analyse a horoscope. However, it is easy to decipher

a horocope after an event. We can arive at a logical conclusion. The issue is

there are hundred of rules which are applicable to a horoscope. How to decide

which one to applicable and which is not? Is it not we getting confused with

lot of techniques and methods?

Regards

Muruli
