I find your rule for functional exaltation similar to one used by

LAL-KITAB OR ARUN SAMHITA(told by sun's driver Arun to Ravan!).

 

Lal Kitab gives importance to houses only.It ignores signs.All houses

have parmanent lordship as per Kal-Purush Chart.So Guru in 4th house

is taken as exalted.We can treat this also as a functional exaltation.

 

Lal kitab also uses the rule of karka's friend/enemy extensively and

explicitly.when such friends/enemies are in house good/bad results

for the house are indicated.

 

I found a few basic rules are mostly used in giving remedies.

(a)Do not give/donate things related to exalted/strong grah(you can

accept).

(b)Do not receive things related to debilited/weak grah(you can

donate).

©If you will trouble relatives etc related to karakatwa of

exalted/strong

grah,it will not give good results.

(d)If you will please relatives etc related to karakatwa of

debilited/weak

grah,it will not give bad results.

 

Since house placements are much more important then signs,Lal-kitab

has

simplified the readings/prediction by elliminating signs completely.

I have no experience in Lal-kitab but We may use divisional charts as

Kal-Purush charts by omitting signs and taking lordship as per natural

zodiac.Experts in Lal-kitab may be able to tell more.

 

BTW: Guruji can we use arudha with respect to karkas?for example

Arudha

of 7th from venus or 11th from guru or 3rd from mars etc

(AV7/AJ11/AM3)?

iF YES,HOW? What will they indicate in comparison to A7/A11/A3.

many meanings. One such meaning is the functional exaltation and also

funcional debility.

 

For example, the conjunction of Mercury and Venus makes Venus

fuctionally

debilitate and then if such a combination were in the A3 or A9 or AS3

or AS9

or even in the saptamsa Lagna trines, then there is a problem in

begetting

children as the union is fruitless. The signs involved matter and if

Guru is

strong in kendra, then this functional weakness of Venus is broken by

the

grace of Guru and the union brings forth children.

 

In this manner the various combinations given in the standard texts

are all

derived from first principles and an understanding of Yoga.
