Dear Jyotisha, Enclosed is a horoscope of a native, whose family is facing a lot hardships for last more than 3 years period. Father of the native suspects that, a particular person might have inflicted difficulties on the family by means of Black Magic. He (father) was running a hotel and the business was quite good for several years until 3 years back, when a new hotel has been opened just opposite. Suddenly the business came down and he was forced to lock after incurring losses and left with no resources to run it further. The native is second son of the father and his brother is Two years elder to him. He has got a sister who is married off. The native is working in a small firm dealing with accounting. Apart from above affliction one more glaring thing I observed in the chart is "short term longevity". Now I may be absolutely wrong here in the impression as it is very complicated part to be explored and obtain the reading even for the professionals and not to talk about the students my calibre. As per the Three pair methods: 1. Lagna Lord and Eighth Lord = Jupiter and Moon :- Moving + Dual, Indicates Short span, 2. Lagna and Hora Lagna = Dual + Moving, Indicates short span, 3. Saturn and Moon = Moving + Dual, Indicates short span. No Vipareeta ayus yoga. Here Short span of life emerges. Method taking 8th lord from Lagna and Moon: 8th from Lagna is Moving, Indicates Long span, 8th from Moon is Moving, Indicates Long span. Here Long life span emerges. Method taking lords of I, VIII and X: 1st lord Jupiter is in Trines 8th lord Moon is in quadrant 10th lord Mercury is in quadrant. Here again short span of life emerges. Though from little effort it seems native may have short life span, very detailed analysis is pushing me to very obvious confusion and lands me in very familiar lost in the middle status. Moving to the Shoola dasa, the dasa starts from 7th house Gemini and at present native is running with Leo shoola dasa and it is going to last upto April 2003. Though the Leo is housing AL, but it has got aspect from Lagna lord Jupiter and hence may not prove to be fatal. The next dasa is of Virgo. This sign is aspected by Venus, Moon and Mars. Here Moon becomes Rudra and is conjoined by malefic Mars. The sign Virgo receives aspect from AK, Mercury but it has been rendered weak by conjunction of Venus. Saturn has got very low Astaka varga strength in Gemini (1) and it would be aspecting the Jeeva Saham point which falls in the sign Sagittarius, when it moves to Gemini in this July, 2002. I do aware that, longevity calculations are too complicated and here I have omitted a lot guidelines which might have been of very much importance. God is always kind and never imposes tragedy and native is surely going to live his full life span. How ever for the sake of academic interest, I request Gurujis and learned to comment and guide me how native can over come this Ganda during the shoola dasa of Virgo. Whether native should be advised to perform Mrutyunjaya Homa to ward of any ill effect ? I earnestly request guidance from all learned and valuable comments from the fellow students. The Shoola Dasa of Leo, has the saving glance of Jupiter, but having Arudha Lagna and Nodes aspecting it, Jupiter will only save through the reciting of mantras. Shoola Dasa of Virgo is terrible. Rudra Yoga is formed by Moon+Mars/Venus, Moon is also 8th lord, whilst Maheswara(Sun) sits in Pisces. Mercury being the AK has dristi on Virgo, however is badhakesh, hence making himself the cause of his miseries. No doubt a Mantra for his Istha Devata; Hanuman(Mars+Sun) should help in bringing him on the right track. Mars is in the 7th and a Saptakshari Mantra for Hanuman should help him in the right direction. Allthough Saturn is in the 8th, promoting good longevity, its also the 2nd lord, and hence a Maraka for health. It is a strong belief in this part of world that, by performing Mrutyunjaya Homa, impending Gandas can be put at bay. To effect this obviously chart should be strong in trines in Rasi and importantly in Navamsa. Once Guruji had mentioned that, how ever Yama would take some one else away on account! I have conveyed my nephew to ask the native to adhere to Mrutyunjaya Mantra and every Saturday pooja to Shanishwara. Now I will also ask him to chant Saptakshari Mantra for Lord hanuman. Obliviously there is a lot sensitivities involved to caution even indirectly to native and the family. God is great and saviour.
