In reading several of B.V. Raman's books on astrology, it seems to

emerge that mental problems of all kinds are correlated to

afflictions of the Moon (which I guess symbolizes the mind and

emotions) and Mercury (intellect and thought(?)).

1) Comments on the above point would be much appreciated

2) Specifically, Rahu conjunct Moon is referred to Chandra Chandala

yoga, and it is stated that if this is joined in some way by Mars (by

aspect or conjuction I presume), it leads to mental instability of

some kind or the other. I believe Saturn adding to the combination

either with or without Mars is also considered bad. In this regard, I

am studying a horoscope with Rahu and Moon conjunct in the 9th house

in Gemini, opposed by Mars and Ketu conjunct in the 3rd house in

Sagittarius. Thoughts on how to move towards an assessment of the

affliction of Moon (whether present and if so, how bad) would be much

appreciated.

Dear VAS,

It is true that Moon conj Rahu will give some 'interesting' mental

results dependng on many other factors. Therefore I think that you

should (if possible) post the chart's data so we can see the entire

picture. It would otherwise be wrong to comment.

Kind regards

Hmm.. Sorry for the late reply.. I log in only periodically.. I cant

disclose the chart for certain reasons. I was hoping someone

could guide me. Could you at least comment on Chandra

Chandala Yoga in general, and perhaps why B.V.Raman says

what he does (regarding Mars joining the Rahu Moon

conjunction leading to instability)? M.C.Jain (another Indian

astrologer who seems well published) is of the opinion that

Rahu "increases" the effect of the planet it is conjunct with. Is this

correct in your (others as well) experience?
