Guest guest
Dear Gurujis and Learned Members, Would appreciate if someone could throw light on : The states (avasthas) of planets is related to -age (degree position in sign important) -alertness -attitude and mood -activity (Nakshatra position used in calculation) The states related to "age" and "activity" are based on the Rasi chart as natal positions of the planets are important in establishing the status. The states related to "alertness" and "attitude and mood" by definition could apply to any chart as the position of the planet in a sign (exaltation, own, good friend, friend, neutral, enemy sign, malefic planet sign etc) is important in establishing these states (and could apply to any Divisional chart). My questions is – Do we establish the state (avastha) in the rashi chart and extend the results to the other Divisional charts for the effectiveness of the planet in giving its results or can the avastha related to "alertness" and "attitude and mood" apply to the respective Divisional chart being interpreted overriding the Rasi chart positions or is the Rasi chart of paramount importance in interpreting the "avasthas". Thank you in advance. Ashwin.

It is well known fact, that Navamsa Dignity is more important than Rashi Dignity. Therefore, the graha may be debilitated in Rashi chart, while Exalted in Navamsa, it will give good effects. So, dignity, which is the main criteria for Deepta Avasta (except Combust ) MUST be applied in Divisional Charts, both for single consideration, and for overall strength such as in vimsopaka scheme. As far as "overriding rashi chart, only Navamsa and Shastiamsa positions do count". See vimsopaka values given by Parashara.
