I have to concede that there is no direct quote. It is implied.

 

Parasara defined Tribhaga bala, Paksha bala, Ayana bala etc

separately. But, he clubbed annual, monthly, daily and hourly balas

together into one verse:

 

varsha maasa dinesaanaam.... || 27-13

 

This made illustrious scholars such as Dr. B.V. Raman and R.

Santhanam conclude that the fixed Savana calendar is used here and

that is why year, month, weekday and hora lords are referred to in

one verse.

 

This interpretation could be wrong, for it is implied and not direct.

But it seems like the most logical one to me and I am not alone in

thinking so!

 

I have clarify here that the above is strictly regarding shadbalas.

When it comes to the question of years to be used in Vimsottari dasa,

I don't know conclusive references to any year.

 

Now it is your turn to explain your surprising remark that you follow

Varahamihira and hence use solar years in Vimsottari dasa. Kindly

back up your use of Varahamihira's name with a quote from the giant!

 

BTW, to Dhira Krsna: Tithis have a variable length. Your calculation

is wrong. The period of 360 tithis is about 354-355 days only.
