Guest guest
Ista Kala literally means the DESIRED TIME. For Birth Charts, this is the Time of Birth. For Muhurtas/Auspicious Time, the time of the Muhurta. Since Vedic Astrology of Old uses the Day starting with with Sunrise, and Ending with the Next sunrise, this Ista Kala is reckoned from the Time of Sunrise. Incidentally, the Sunrise is taken as the time when the Center of the Sun is on the Horizon, not the Upper Limb --- Sanjay Rath <srath wrote: > > > Om Namo Bhagavate Vaasudevaya > Dear Anton > It is the Auspicious moment of birth or 'Auspicious birth time' as > this is > reckoned from the Sun > > With best wishes > Sanjay Rath > http://sanjayrath.tripod.com > > > > jyotishi_ua [tony] > Saturday, May 25, 2002 12:45 PM > vedic astrology > [vedic astrology] Ishta-Kala > > > Pranam, > > How should 'Ishta-Kala' be translated exactly?
