May 26-June 15: A Crucial Time

Namaste friends,

The eclipse of May 26, 2002 is visible in India, several nations in Asia,

south America and most of USA..

This eclipse occurs near a close Saturn-Rahu conjunction, with Moon

deblitated and Sun afflicted by Saturn and Rahu. This eclipse portends some

disastrous developments over the next few weeks.

DANGER TO LEADERS

During May 26-June 15 (expecially June 5-10), Sun will be closely afflicted

by both Saturn and Rahu. This can make powerful leaders blind with passion,

anger. jealousy and ego. Some illogical and stupid decision from world

leaders are possible. Assassination of a powerful leader is also possible,

especially in a country where the eclipse is visible (USA, south America,

India and eastern parts of Asia).

Political leaders should enhance their security and keep their cool when

they make crucial decisions.

NATURAL DISASTER

A powerful earthquake is a good possibility during the week after the

eclipse. The eclipse that occurs with Sun afflicted by Saturn and Rahu and

Sun close to Mercury, in an earthy sign, is likely to produce a strong

earthquake and/or other natural disasters.

TERRORIST ATTACK

The possibility of a second major terrorist attack on US soil during May

26-June 15 is very real. This is a terrible time and an attack of magnitude

comparable to the September 11 attack cannot be ruled out during this time.

Especially, May 31 and June 7 stand out. June 5-10 is a particularly bad

time. Hopefully, the increased vigil of US intelligence will prevent further

attacks.

INDIA-PAKISTAN

Libra rises at New Delhi and Islamabad at the time of peak eclipse. The evil

conjunction of Sun-Saturn-Rahu in the 8th house shows continues turmoil,

uncertainty and tension over the week or two following the eclipse. However,

on the positive side, conjunction of 7th lord Mars in with benefics Jupiter

and Venus in the 9th house of protection, with Jupiter being the most

advanced planet, shows beneficial intervention from powerful friends.

Even if there is war, a nuclear catastrophe that debilitates India does not

seem likely, despite what analysts may say. War or no war, India will make

some progress in the conflict and succeed in reining in the malevolent

elements within Pakistan. The next few weeks will see Pakistan bowing in

front of India's tremendous will power.

India is on the verge of a great rise as a key world power. From August 2002

to August 2011, India will run a period of excellent raja yogas (Libra's

Narayana dasa) and will experience great rise. From a nation of

self-doubters who look west for validating each of their thoughts and ideas,

India will evolve into a confident nation hell-bent on writing its own

destiny, even against the will of the whole world.

Pakistan, on the other hand, is a nation on the verge of further

disintegration, decay and fall. Shoola dasa of Aries and Niryana Shoola dasa

of Scorpio are both maraka dasas (killer periods). Over the next couple of

years, Pakistan will only decay further. Pakistan's honeymoon with USA in

the "war against terrorism" may soon come to its end, as the heat on

Pakistan becomes unbearable.

GOLD AND ECONOMY

Value of gold is already increasing in some parts of the world. From July,

it will increase further, as Jupiter moves to Cancer. This is a good time to

stock up on gold.

The economy may take one last blow during the next few weeks, before it

starts the slow recovery from July.

WHAT WE CAN DO

When bad times come, the best we can do is to pray to God. Pray to the form

of God you belive in, in the form of worship that you believe in. Pray for

peace in the world and in your country. If people around you are behaving in

a crazy manner in these tough times, be tolerant and gentle.

World will emerge stronger from the tests of the next few weeks. Hopefully,

because of all your prayers, my concerns will prove unnecessary and nothing

untoward will happen during May 26-June 15.

I gave the two dates based on the pratyantardasa of Ashtottari dasa

of 2002-03 annual chart (Full Moon). Look at USA's 2002-03 annual

chart. It has Scorpio rising, with Mars, Mercury, Venus, Saturn and

Rahu in 7th. I identified 8th lord and 7th lord in 7th as the key

marakas. As per compressed Ashtottari dasa, Mercury-Venus antardasa

runs during May 28-June 8. This is IMHO the danger period for the

next attack. Pratyantardasas of Venus and Mercury run on May 31, June

1 and June 7. Of these, May 31 and June 7 happen to be ruled by Venus

too.

Look at 2001-02 chart for guidance. Mars in 7th and 7th lord Jupiter

in lagna were key marakas. Rahu was in lagna. Jupiter-Mars-Rahu

pratyantardasa was runnning on September 11.

But, hey, I am not so good in predicting geo-political events. So

don't be biased by what I say!

In any case, May 26-June 15 is a terrible time and keep praying. As

they say, "this too shall pass"!

Many thanks - initially, I was looking at just the Transits for June 7th and May

31st, and saw a grave problem on June 7th! Thanks for explaining the alternate

reason why May 31st is as much a danger point (the Exact day of my own Saturn

Return btw!)
