Vyam Vysadevaya Namaha

--------------------------

Dear Ashwin,

This is also formed as a lesson at Varahamihira list.

Take the planets in the order of speed from Saturn to Moon.

Now starting from Sunday, where the first Hora is lorded by Sun;

Su

Ve

Me

Mo

Sa

Ju

Ma

That completes the first 7 hours, and the order repeats itself throughout the entire week.

The 24th Hora would be that of moon, hence Moon rules the 2nd day; Monday! Draw

the list, and you will see so yourself for all the other days as well.

This goes to prove that the week actually starts from Sunday and not Monday, and

one of the reasons why Christians goto church on Sunday mornings.

Now the starting time of these Horas should understood. Sanjay Rath prescribes 6

AM Local time. This will take some correction depending on the distance you are

from the longitude of your timezone.

In my case i am approx 10 minutes away, hence 6 AM Local Time, is akin to 6:10

AM Central European time.

These calculations are also used in Jagannath Hora Lite 4.1.

Best wishes, Visti.

Om

Many thanks for the information Visti.

The ruler for each hour is different from the rulership of the eight

parts of the day and night (roughly 1.5 hour periods) that is used

in the upagrahas calculations.

Best wishes.

Ashwin.
