Guest guest
OM Dear Gurus and List Members, Would appreciate your responses to the questions detailed below. I am confused with what I have read in different books. Your responses/instructions/guidance will be greatly appreciated so that I may clear ambiguity in my mind. (I would like to thank Narasimha (I love your book - Vedic Astrology An Integrated Approach, I am going to read it again), Visti and Narayan for responses to the question yesterday) Questions: 1) In Divisional charts (in general) is Rashi Dristi preferred to Graha Dristi ? 2) Just as Chara Karakas are extended to the Navamsa (D9) can we similarly extend the Chara Karakas to other Divisional charts eg Pitri Karak and Matri Karaka in the D12 or Putra Karaka in D7 or Bhatri Karaka in D3 3) Is application of Naisargika Karakatwas in Divisional charts an extension of its application in Rashi (D1) chart ? eg – In D1 – Mars for Younger sibling (3rd House); Real Estate (4th House); Diseases (6th House), extending to Divisional charts, In D3 - Mars for Younger sibling (3rd House) In D4 - Mars for Real Estate (4th House) In D30 – Mars for Disease (6th house) If it is different please give example so I may understand. 4) In Divisional charts is "Natural" significations (Benefic vs Malefic) more important than "Functional" significations OR do the Karakatwas significations override such interpretations ? Eg, Say in D10 if lagna is Aquarius is Venus a Yogakaraka or is position of Venus in a sign and house in relation to houses 10, 2 and 6 and associated aspects of other planets/signs of more importance in interpretation/reading. 5) In Divisional charts are "Natural relationships" and "Compound Relationships" of importance in interpretation (Good friend, friend, neutral, enemy, bad enemy) ? OR are such relationships only applied in the Rashi (D1) chart ? Thanking you all in advance. Ashwin.
Guest guest
Om Namah Shivaya, Om Gurave Namah, Dear Ashwin, Please see my answers for your questions below, > Questions: > 1) In Divisional charts (in general) is Rashi Dristi preferred to > Graha Dristi ? Yes,Rashi drishti is preferred and both can be used in divisionals. > 2) Just as Chara Karakas are extended to the Navamsa (D9) can we > similarly extend the Chara Karakas to other Divisional charts eg > Pitri Karak and Matri Karaka in the D12 or Putra Karaka in D7 or > Bhatri Karaka in D3 Chara Karaka's are not 'extended' to d9, They are the same in rasi and all divisionals. Like for ex. Divisional like D5 can give more clues regarding PiK, PK and AK based rajayogas. > 3) Is application of Naisargika Karakatwas in Divisional charts an > extension of its application in Rashi (D1) chart ? eg – > In D1 – Mars for Younger sibling (3rd House); Real Estate (4th > House); Diseases (6th House), extending to Divisional charts, > In D3 - Mars for Younger sibling (3rd House) > In D4 - Mars for Real Estate (4th House) > In D30 – Mars for Disease (6th house) > If it is different please give example so I may understand. The naisargika karakatwas are the same in all the charts. In divisionals the relavent karakatwa can be given more importance like you said Mars as siblings can be given importance in D3. but it can also be looked to indicate real estate in D3, like if Mars is in say, 4th from 3rd lord it can indicate real estates for that sibling. > 4) In Divisional charts is "Natural" significations (Benefic > vs Malefic) more important than "Functional" significations OR > do the Karakatwas significations override such interpretations ? Eg, Say in D10 if lagna is Aquarius is Venus a Yogakaraka or is position of > Venus in a sign and house in relation to houses 10, 2 and 6 and > associated aspects of other planets/signs of more importance in > interpretation/reading. Venus will be yogakaraka(also badhakesh for Aq) whereever it's placed. Whether it is able give it's results is seen from it's house positions. Both significations are to be looked when reading a chart. Planets owning duhstanas(evil houses) tend give bad results to the house they are placed in. A Natural benifics may give that evil in a 'soft' manner and a natural malefic would give it in a 'rough' manner. The result could be worse if a planet is both functional and natural malefics. For certain readings like for 6th from AL only natural relationships are seen, a benific may make one peaceful or malefic and make one agressive. If u want to see for certain yoga's like Vipareeta Raja yoga involving the dushtana's the functional nature plays more role. So proper blending is needing. I do not know of any set of thumb rules you can use to find when to use what. > 5) In Divisional charts are "Natural relationships" and > "Compound > Relationships" of importance in interpretation (Good friend, > friend, > neutral, enemy, bad enemy) ? OR are such relationships only applied > in the Rashi (D1) chart ? > Divisionals are to treated like Rasi. The various planetary relationships are applicable in all the divisionals. > Thanking you all in advance. > > Ashwin.
