Atmakaraka - A query

Jaya Jagannatha,

 

Dear Gurus,

I remember reading an article authored by Guru Sanjay Rath stating

that if a malefic planet becomes the Atmakaraka, it would steer the

person toward spiritual pursuits and also endow saintly qualities. In

that regard I have a doubt that I would like cleared;

1) Does the rule apply only to natural malefics

 

OR

 

2) would a malefic turned into a functional benefic also yield the

same results?

 

In my horoscope Lord Saturn is the Atmakaraka, but my Lagna being

Libra he is a functional benefic. Would the above rule apply?

 

Though my interests in spirituality run very deep, I don't see a

fallen soul like myself attaining saintly qualities. If you can

kindly spare a little time I would like to know my prospects in that

direction.

 

My second question is whether my chart shows any promise in

astrological studies, though for a novice like me the combination of

venus-mercury in the fifth indicates an interest, does it indicate

prowess?

Dear Sir,

The Graha becoming the AK, will show the souls lesson for this life. If this

graha is a malefic, the lesson is harder, and is more likely to be learned.

Hence the person becomes more spiritual.

 

Take the indications of the planet becoming AK, and you will be able to

understand the souls-lesson. Mars=Anger, Saturn=Sorrow, etc.
