Guest guest
Hello, My Lagna is Kumbha and Saturn is in Mithuna. So, shouldn't the AL be tula? However, the JHLite (ver 3.0) shows the AL as Vrishabha. Is there any miss in my understanding of AL or is it in the software? Thanks, Nomadeva Health - your guide to health and wellness http://health.
Guest guest
Dear Nomadeva, Have you checked the status of RA, the co-lord of Kumbha. If RA is stronger than SA, AL will be calculated in relation to RA's position in the natal chart. This is my understanding, Best wishes Shailesh - Nomadeva Sharma vedic astrology Monday, May 06, 2002 12:22 PM [vedic astrology] Simple doubt on AL Hello,My Lagna is Kumbha and Saturn is in Mithuna. Guest guest
Dear Visti and Shailesh, Thanks for that. Looks like it is Rahu who is in the stronger paada than Saturn. What is meant by stronger pAda? Guest guest
Vyam Vysadevaya Namah ------- Dear Nomaveda, Jagannath Hora calculates the Arudha PADAS, from the stronger lord of the sign. However Gurudeva has taught that we should take both Arudha Padas into account and decide the stronger Arudha Pada. This is however not in the Jagannath Hora Lite versions, and i'm unaware as to whether it will be in the commercial version. I usually calculate the padas by hand anyway. The strength rules to see the stronger pada are the same as those used to see the stronger bhava in Narayana Dasa, only you must first calculate both Arudha Padas and then see which is stronger. Is there any miss in my understanding of AL > or is it in the software? > > Thanks, > Nomadeva Aq has two lords - Saturn and Rahu. Sc has two lords - Mars and Ketu. We have to take the stronger lord in the case of these two signs. This applies to finding arudhas, finding Narayana dasa years etc. JHLite tries to find the stronger planet. Usually, it does a good job (especially the newer unreleased version). Even JHLite 3.0 does an ok job. Try to check if Rahu is stronger or Saturn in your chart. If you send your birthdata, we can see that. May Jupiter's light shine on us, Narasimha
Guest guest
JAYA JAGANNATHA! Dear Nomadeva, Namaste. > Hello, > > My Lagna is Kumbha and Saturn is in Mithuna. So, > shouldn't the AL be tula? > However, the JHLite (ver 3.0) shows the AL as > Vrishabha. Is there any miss in my understanding of AL > or is it in the software? It's not likely that the software would err. Maybe you should remind yourself that Kumbha Rasi has two lords: Rahu and Saturn. If Rahu is stronger than Saturn according to Jaimini's rules, then the Arudha Lagna should be calculated from Rahu. Most probably Rahu is stronger in your chart than Saturn, and is situated either in Taurus or Scorpio. In this case the AL would fall into the 7th house from Lagna, but as 1st and 7th houses are Satya peetha, or places of truth, the Arudhas can't fall there. Thus in this case the Arudha would fall into the 4th house. Guest guest
Dear Narasimha garu, Pfa the JHD file. I could not understand why Rahu is stronger than Saturn here, given that Rahu is debilitated. AFAIK, he doesn't even get neechabhanga, unlike his roommate, chandra. AFAIK, he > doesn't even get neechabhanga, unlike his roommate, > chandra. > > Thanks, > Nomadeva The first test of strength is to see the number of planets with the planet. Saturn is alone, while Rahu is accompanied by Moon. Rahu wins. So we don't even go to the Mercury-Jupiter-lord rule and exaltation rule etc. The matter is settled in the first rule itself and Rahu is the lord of Aq. Even among the two arudhas (Ta given by Rahu and Li given by Saturn), Ta is clearly stronger as Ketu occupies it while Li is empty. So your arudha lagna undoubtedly is Taurus. JHLite is correct in your case. On the other hand, let us take A10. JHLite Mars with 2 planets to be stronger than lonely Ketu and gives your A10 in Aq. However, A10 given by weak Ketu is in Le. Le is much stronger than Aq. So A10 in Leo will also give its results to you. May Jupiter's light shine on us, Narasimha
