Q for the gurus: Black magic in a chart

March 21, 2002

Dear gurus and list members,

During the last couple of years I came across private writings with the comment

that a specific chart is "influenced by black magic".

None of the astrologers who issued the statement went into explainig it.

I trust that there is someone on the list who is aware of this and can explain

1) It's basics - what planetary positions and combinations are involved

2) Eventual remedies.

Pending the rationale from the Gurus, let my astro-dictionary provide

some headless gydlyns, for them to comment on/ correct:

1. 5= spiritual practices in general: so, see afflictions on 5.

Similarly, d-20 & d-27.

2. KarakamsaLagna= hidden spiritual potential. So afflictions to Kons

(1/5/1) to Karakamsa Lagna, eg if it has, AND is aspected by many

malefics.

3. Jp weak & afflicted, eg in 6 with other afflictions. More

importantly, Jp afflicted by Ra, eg Ra & Jp occupies 3/8 fm AL/AK in

d-9.

4. Bad influences in Ardra, Ashwini, both Purva & Uttar Phalguni

nakshatras, eg L6 in Ashwini.

Thank you for the explanation Nandan.

I'll wait for one of the gurus response as well in order to try and build a

picture of what "black magic" in a chart is all about.

Dear Jay,

Refer to the last chapter of Vedic Remedies in

Astrology by Sanjay Rath.

Mars should aspect/join Lagna by Graha Dristi, for any

such manifestation of problems.. This is a first

criteria, and shows that someone is angry with the

person, and like Rudra, wants todo some evil towards

the native.

Now if Ketu is in 1st, 4th or 10th as well, then a

coil is put around the neck of the person and they can

become posessed by a spirit.. The remedy in such a

case is to free the lagna(like in Sarpa Yoga). Some

people with the mentioned combination will be free

from this ailment without problems.

Would you like a more elaborate explanation in this

regard?

If instead/and Badhakesh is associated with the 6th

house or Mars, then again such results can manifest.

The person who does the evil is seen from the

Satrupada(A6).

The remedy in such a case is to establish friendship

with the angry counterpart or remove the curse itself.

For the latter, we must remove darkness, hence worship

of Rama, the sattwic embodiment of the Sun, will

remove all darkness.

For determining a remedy to apease the angry

counterpart, there is a specific way to go about it..

Dear Arno and visti................................That's a very

strange story indeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I too have mars in lagna and it is

the atmakaraka but I never came across such strange phenomenon. Maybe

there are other reasons for it. I hope visti could be a bit more

specific on this issue. I am intrigued as much as you are.

Dear Arno,

The Lagna is precariously placed on the border. As you know any

reduction in time could move the Lagna to Libra! But, I trust you

must have looked into it.

The signs of abhichara/black magic is present in both cases! With

Scorpio Lagna, the 6L Mars in 7H and Mars aspecting Lagna is an

indication of black Magic.

The ultimate cure is Mritunjaya Japa.

Dear Arno,

Based on the Dasa running, i.e Rahu-Jupiter-Jupiter, I believe that

she(Ananta) should be Libra Lagna. However, I could be wrong, as

this is just one event, and such events have other indications which

might not have been revealed by Sanjay, as unscruplous practitioners

can take advantage of innocent people!

Dear Arno,

Here are 3 criterias mentioned in VRA:

1. Badhakesh associated with 6th house or Lord.

2. 6th lord in 1st, 7th or 12th, as Mars aspects Lagna.

3. Ketu in 1st, 4th or 10th as Mars aspects Lagna.

Theres no mention of Rasi vs Graha Dristi, but as its caused by the directed

anger of another person, i attribute it to graha dristi and hence the desire of

the significant other.

Your case satisfies the 2nd criteria.

Note that your Badhakesh; Moon is in 10th house, showing the area of the problems.

Badhakesh is in turn in 12th from Arudha Lagna, and being a benefic-moon, shows

that you ignored a woman(mother) in professional life, and hence the problem

comes.

The effect of this evil is seen from the lord of Satru Pada. Mercury lords

Satrupada and is placed with Venus in the 4th house. Rahu gives Graha Dristi on

the same combination. The Karaka of Home and family is Moon and; Mercury, Venus

and Rahu are enemies of the Moon and play tricks on the mind, hence the mental

tension in the home.

This is in turn in the 9th from Upapada, showing the troubles to second wife..

2nd wife being shown by 8th from Upapada, and the troubles to the same being

seen from 2nd from the 8th, hence 9th from Upapada shows troubles to 2nd wife.

All black magicians have the help of a spirit to cause such evil towards others,

and this spirit is indicated by Gulika! So we can see where these spirits

manifest themselves and come into our lives. Gulika in Lagna(you, your name

etc) with Saturn(dirt, pollution), indicates that the spirit was sent through

smearing your name with some dirt.

Saturn lords the 3rd house and hence all written documents, which may have been

the means of transporting the evil.

The evil disapeared once, either the documents were burnt, or Guru showed his

face, and appeased the enemy with enlightenment.

This happened in the Narayana Maha Dasa of Gemini, aspected by Satrupada, and

having Rahu in the 5th house. The Antar Dasa was of Libra.

Dear Aru and Arno,

How forgetful i have been writing emails in the evenings.

The remedy is sought through the area of the problem. In case of profession seek

Palana Devata, and all business partners/competitors will be apeased. The

Akshara of the Mantra should be the ammount passed between Lagna and Arudha

Lagna. In Arno's case; Ekadasakshari Chamunda Mantra.

The above mantra will protect the person from professional problems in general,

but to attack the problem directly, worship Shiva with Mrityunjaya Mantra to

remove ill health, and worship Ganapati to removes obstacles.

Sanjay Rath mentions Tila Homa, but i don't know what it is.

So Aru, why aren't you affected by such evil? Mars is the cause of anger, and

when anger resides, one may resort to such actions as black magic to satisfy

the anger. Hence when Mars aspects the Lagna, the person is affected by anger.

Either directly(Graha dristi) or inderectly and more circumstancial(Rasi

Dristi).

When Mars is in Lagna, and AK, then no doubt the person excerts this anger

themself. Theres a great deal for you to learn in this regard. As Mars is your

AK understand and excert non-violence, and your whole life will become much

easier.

As for black magic, i cannot say it won't come from some of those people who may

not like you or your actions, but instead i advocate faith in god, as even such

faith can drive all evil-spirits away.

Now how to see such strong faith, removing all sarpa in charts?

It must have todo with the persons actions?

Check lord of Paka Lagna. Jupiter and Sun can remove the evil, each in their own way.

never came across such strange phenomenon. Maybe there are other reasons for

it. I hope visti could be a bit more specific on this issue. I am intrigued as

Dear Arno & Visti,

I just thought I should look at your chart from *Libra Lagna* point

of view. So please dont mind this attempt.

Five things caught my eye:

1. Sankranti Dosha

2. Badhakesh Sun in 6H aspected by Jupiter® who is lord of 6H

and also A6.

3. 6L Jupiter in 12H.

4. Mars aspects Lagna.

5. That Jupiter figuring prominently and its AD started on Dec 23.

Sankranti Dosha is supposed to cause job related problems/tensions.

And this is what happened, in that, her main intent was to scare you

from you professional attempt to advertise yourself as a

Professional Astrologer!

All this happened during Rahu-Jupiter-Jupiter, in fact Jupiter AD

had started on Dec 23 2000!

Jupiter apart from being A6 lord, is in 12H and aspected by

badhakesh gets the nastiness to cause hurt. That Jupiter is also the

9L from UL, indicates that your second wife bore the brunt of the

malefeasance.

The 5L associated with Gulika shows Mantra&Tantra in action!

Viscious Old Lady is indicated by Retrograde Jupiter in Tamasic Virgo

The sex of the enemy, is clearly indicated by Mercury lord of Satrupada joined

with Venus, but her age is dynamic, and cannot be seen from the same position.

I am however abit uneasy with determining the sex of the individual using Arudhas..

Rather we look elsewhere to see static ages of people affecting our life(in your

case this problem was caused in professional life, hence AL).

So the 12th from AL, having Moon who is aspected by Rahu should indicate the age

of the woman troubling you.
