Dear astrologers................Can anyone explain me what the

term "Prakasana Avastha" means? I came across this term many times

while reading the posts on the website.

Hi Aravinda,

 

Planets have various "avasthas" that reflect the state they are in.

Of these, there is a group of avasthas (states) related to activity.

They are called "Sayanaadi Avasthas". Prakasana avastha is one of

them. It literally means "glowing". A planet in this state is akin to

a person who bright and glowing with excitement and happiness. It's

one of the best states for a planet to be in.

 

For more details on how to compute and judge these avasthas, please

read a translation of BPHS. You can also refer to my textbook "Vedic

Astrology: An Integrated Approach". Some pointers to where this book
