In Raman's book or in many others classical(Ancient & Modern) , only the result of the placement is simply written. Suppose, in Raman's book, 12th lord's placement in 12th house makes the native "engaged in agriculture" . Why? 12th lord's placement in 10th house makes the native" hard working". Why? Is there any book that explains these riddles?...]: Dear Mr Banerjee Let me answer u in the best way that one blind man can to another, & hope that the Gurus will correct me. There can never be any book which covers every meaning of a lord of house A placed in house B, or explain ALL the riddles of various meanings of this as covered in various other books. However, let me give you some paths to understand some of the meanings for ONLY this affair, ie Lord X in house Y (ie ignoring every other influence). Let me specifically take up L12 in 10: (sig= signification): [ note: points 4 & 5 are covered with various examples thruout CoVA, but I havent understood it fully, so the interpretations below MAY not be correct. Request those more learned to pitch in in those 2 points] 1. sig of L12 being in 10: the domains of expenses/ foreign residence (12) are strong/ to do with profession. Eg due to strong expense-orientation, need to do a lot of hard work to retain any savings; hence the allusion to "agriculture" for L12 in BOTH 10 & in 12 in many texts(see point 8 below) 2. L12 in sig of 10: L12 in 10= the domain of profession has been afflicted (12) to being in confining areas, eg jailor, doctor, hospital administrator, or to being separated away from original home eg ambassador 3. any yogas: eg L12 in 12= Vimla= spotless reputation= honourable work. L10 in 12 is no specific yog, of course. 4. Lord being X distance away from own house: ie taking the lord's own house as Lg: eg L12 in 10= L12 being in 11th place from own house 12: ie for sigs of 12, its lord is in an operating environment, which is improving/ opulent/ related to elder-sibling (11), for the domain of profession (10). 5. Own house being X distance away from the Lord: ie taking the lord as Lg: eg L12 in 10= own house 12 being 3 places away from its own position: ie its own house is energised/ related to younger sibling/ related to arms (3). 6. natural karaka of house occupied: depending on which aspects of L12 & 10 are being considered, it is as if L12 is in house of Jp (natural karaka of 10 for growth in prosperity)/ St (NK.10 for career)/Mc (profession)/ Sn (fame). Now, as NK of 12 is St: Loss/ exps/ separn/ punishmt, Ve: bed-plsrs/ long trvl/ eyes, Ke: Moksh, Ra: bad habits/ secret nmies, Jp: donatn, Mn: sleep. So it is as if the corresponding signification is in that. This is still another way of looking at it. 7. primary vs secondary indicator : 12 is not a primary indication of profession, but of expenses, etc. So when u read abt professional interpretations for L12, this is just an ADDITIONAL qualifier to the main primary indicators (L10, Saturn, etc). 8. translation: a) an interpretation as agricultural profession, may mean disciplined physical labour in one place (without travelling), not necessarily working in the fields on vegetation. b) often, a translation gives a primary meaning, but more often than not, most classics give the SECONDARY or effected meaning. Eg while Raj Yog A may actually be for happiness, RY B for physical health, RY C for money, but all three maybe defined as physical health+ happiness+ success, assuming that a healthy body & mind is happy & rich. U will note most RYs are translated to say the same thing, & we have to throw away most of the definitions, & understand how the yog is formed & understand the ACTUAL primary meaning. Given my own limitations in the kindergarten of astrology, this is the best I cd come up with Best wishes Nandan ______________________ Looking for a job? Visit India Careers Visit http://in.careers.
