AUM NAMO BHAGWATE RUDRAYA!

I have been reading the translation of Jaimini Sutras by Sanjay Rath

and would like someone here to clarify the following.

One of the verses says "Ketu in the 12th from Karakamsa leads to

final emancipation or Moksha". Does this apply also to 12th from

Navamsa lagna.

I know that Sanjay talks in the begining of this chapter about Swamsa

and makes the distinction between Karakmsa and the Navamsa lagna.

This is not explicit with regard to the above item.

Thanks very much

Dear *Abbey_US*(Please Sign Your Name),

He refers to Chara Atmakaaraka. As it stands for the soul, and

moksha is connected to liberation of Soul and not body!!

Thanks for the reply:

How would you interpret the following sutra?

SU. 69.-Ketow kaivalyam.

First Interpretation ==

We may take ucche from the previous Sutra and say that if Ketu is

found in 12th there will be final Bliss.

Second interpretation ==

Ka meana 1, Ta signifies 6 =16. 16 reversed - 61. Divided by 12,

we get balance of 1.

If a benefic occupies Karakamsa; the person

will have Moksha or Final Bliss.

Does anyone have a preference for either interpretation?

Also can respected Sanjayji explain if "Swamsa" applies also to the

above sutra?

Dear Abhijit,

Maharshi Jaimini does not use names of grahas to indicate houses. There

is even a sutra to this effect (I think - na grahaanaam). So Ketou

should not be interpreted to mean 1. The names of the grahas stand for

themselves.

Krishna

om gurave namah------------------------Dear Abhijt,

In the first Adhyaya first Pada, Maharishi clarifies that he has hidden the

numders refering to the signs in the words and not in the names of planets i.e.

planets are always referred to by their names. Thus, Katapayadi Varga has been

used and this method of Vedic Numerology (has been used in the Jaimini Sutra)

to hide the signs and not the planets. In the stanza" ketoh kaivalyam', the

reference is to the planet Ketu itself and kaivalyam is moksha. When read

independantly, it means 'Ketu is the moksha karaka' when read with the

preceding stanza it means ' ketu in the 12th will sure lead one in the path of

moksha'.

Swamasa has two parts - one is Lagnamsa which is the physical or conscious body

and the other is the Atma in the form of Karakamsa. When we talk of

emancipation, then to see the 12th house from Lagna is a foolish thing. What

does it mean? Emancipation from this body or death or end of body!!! This is

known to all. We all have to die one day, so what is the big thing about it.

Moksha refers to a state of the Atma as its independant identity is lost for a

relativley long period of time. Parasara is very clear in advising us to study

'Bandana or moksha' from the Atmakaraka. Hence this has to be studied from the

Karakamsa and not from Lagnamsa. With best wishesSanjay RathWeb:

Dear Sanjay,

Thank you very much for your prompt reply and the clear explanation.

I am assuming that the stanza in question implies that it is a

sufficient condition but not a necessary one. Is that right?
