Guest guest
Dear astrologers....................................................How important is Ashtakavarga system while determining planetary strengths? For example, in my chart sun is weak with only 3 bindus and 28 points in SAV and venus has 6 bindus with only 19 in SAV, Ghati lagna also has low SAV; But, there were many good events (like coming to USA, father's status and power in job) towards the end of venus mahardasa and ravi mahardasa. So, my question is, does the placement of planets and the yogas formed by them counter the malicious effects of the low ashtakavarga points? I hope I am not confusing you with my question and please pardon my immature questions ( I am beginner in astrology). regards Aru
Guest guest
dear Aru Ashtakavarga analysis has to be made considering the sarvashtakavarga of the bahvas as well as planets.. The ashtakavarga system of prediction is not so simple as it looks. There is a book by late sri.B.V.Raman called the ashtakavarga system of analysis. let us take a simple example. In the sarva chart of venus, see how many bindus all the planets are contributing to all the bhavas. this gwould give you an idea how well is venus placed. Venus getting 6 points is good, but see how are the bhavas faring in the venus ashtakavarga, similarly for sun. Ashtakavarga is mostly used for transits. when saturn transits low bindu bhavas in its ashtakavarga then there is some disease and hardship. The lordship and placement of saturn should not be forgotten in the natal chart, to determine how evil?? mahatma gandhi had saturn getting 0 bindu in its ashtakavarga and that too saturn is in 2nd house of speech!!!!??? So analysing verbatim is dangerous and you have to see the whole picture.more later, regards partha vedic astrology, "aru_dulla" <aru_dulla> wrote: > Dear > astrologers....................................................How > important is Ashtakavarga system while determining planetary > strengths? Guest guest
Dear Partha and Aru, I was going to comment when I saw your mail Partha. It is so that while Raman's 'little' book is actually very rewarding in that several issues mentioned there do work (often) in practice, I will also recommend "Dots of Destiny" by Viany Aditya. In my opinion Ashtakavarga may hold the key to many 'hidden' issues but it takes time to learn and master all of it's applications.
