Jaimini gives the following rules for the interpretation of

Karakamsha:(from Brihaspati.net)

The planets in the 12th house from Karakamsha will indicate the Ishta-

devata of the native, i.e. the form of Deity that will lead him to

final emancipation.

But the Sutras below says about worship of deities as per planets in

Karakamsa. Here conflict arises between ishta-devata(which is as per

the planet in 12th from karakamsa) and worship (as per planet placed

in karakamsa). I hope one should worship the ishta-devata but in this

case both wont be same. Please clear my doubt?

If Ravi and Kethu are in Karakamsa, the

person will become a Saivite or one who worships

Shiva.

If Chandra joins Karakamsa, the person will

worship Gouri, wife of Shiva.

If Sukra joins Karakamsa, he will worship

Lakshmi, spouse of Vishnu.

If Kuja occupies Karakamsa, he becomes a

worshipper of Skanda or Shanmukha the warrior

son of Shiva.

If Budha and Sani join Karakamsa, he will

worship Vishnu.

If Karakamsa is joined by Guru, he will worship

Sambasiva or Parvati and Paramesvara.

If Rahu joins Karakamsa, the person will

worship evil spirits and Durga.

If Kethu joins Karakamsa, the person becomes

a devotee of Ganesa and Kumaraswami.

If Sani occupies the Karakamsa falling in an

evil sign, the person becomes a great devotee of evil

spirits.
