Music Composer Saint Thyagaraja's horoscope

I am not sure if this list has discussed this earlier. I have come

across a horoscope of the renowned music composer and scholar Saint

Thyagaraja, who was a great devotee of Lord Rama.

 

I am also not sure if the birth data I have from a book is correct.

 

Saint Tyagaraja:

 

Birth Information: Monday, 4th May 1767; 12.00 Noon at Tiruvarur in

Tanjore District, Tamil Nadu, India

 

Birth Star: Pushya

 

I tried using the JHL, but the birth data given above does not match

with the chart published in the book.

 

According to the horoscope published in the book:

 

RASI CHART:

 

Lagna/Moon in Kataka

Jupiter, Mercury and Kethu in Simha

Rahu in Kumbha

Sun in Mesha

Venus and Saturn in Vrishba

Mars in Mithuna

 

NAVAMSAM CHART:

 

Lagna in Kumbha

Rahu in Vrishba

Venus in Kataka

Moon in Simha

Saturn in Kanya

Sun, Mercury and Jupiter in Thula

Mars and Kethu in Vrischika

 

I am unable to get the correct latitude and longitude for Tiruvarur.

 

I hope it will be interesting to discuss the horoscope of this great

saint, an accomplished music genius and a person respected to this

date, by the classical music community.

 

Any food for thought?

The jhd file does not seem to tally with the published horoscope that

I have.

Venkataramana Bhagavathar, according to this book on the life and

works of Saint Tygaraja.

 

Can we discuss this horoscope and see what has made him, what he was

and what he is, today?

 

The learned Gurus can throw light on whether it tallies at all.

Dear K. Rangan,

I think The copied chart could be wrong as Mercury(Simha-Leo) cannot 5 signs

away from sun(Aries-Mesha).

Dear list,

Using JHL chart. I feel that the given time could be wrong since

Atmakaraka(saturn) is in 8th(Virgo) in dushtana.

The other possibilites for singer composer can be Leo or

Libra Navamsa Lagna(Moon/Sun has to be in trines for singers).

I think the navamsa lagna has to be Libra.

with Sun and Jupiter. Sun the maximum Shadbala with 590.

Sun gives knowledge of music, aspect of Moon on Navamsa lagna

gives vocal abilities.

Sun in lagnamsa also made him a court singer.

Sun as the 12th lord from AK conjunct BK (jupiter) made him a Ram

Bhakta.

 

Can others give their opinion on this please.

Tyagaraja (1767-1847)

Sri Tyagaraja, the most celebrated Carnatic Music saint was a great

devotee of Lord Sri Rama. Tyagaraja lived to the full extent that God

realization is best achieved through Nadopasana (music with

devotion). His songs are filled with an intimate devotion to Rama,

all through revealing his deep understanding of the tenets of the

Vedas and Upanishads.
