I'll be in those two towns during the next week for a short trip. If possible, I want to collect some books that I don't have. Please reply to pvr108. The few scattered book shops in the twin cities are not worth your time. But there are 2 shops that you should visit. The first is Gopal Publications or something like that. Gopal... is an exclusively Vedic/tantric/indological shop. It is near Maheswari theatre. I do not remember the exact name of the lane. From the jn you have to walk into a lane and turn left. The second shop is in Secunderabad. Kadambi booksellers in Secunderabad were at one time very good for astro books. Though they dont maintain it now like they did previously. If you look in the Yellow pages, you will trace both the shops' exact addresses. Most other shops like Gangaram's are big and have a good name, but dont generally have a collection like the other two. Since Gangaram's is very near to Kadambi, you could visit that place too. Gangaram's is a good place for books on Ayurveda and Tantra. BTW since Shailesh Chadha, a member of this group lives in Hyd, he could be of some help to you. I am sure he would be happy to be of some assistance.Hope your trip to India proves fruitful and bring you happiness. Hussains’ have huge collections of books, possibly on Ayurveda, not many on astrology. Gangarams might have on Astrology too. Quite a few books in Telugu are available in Shankarmutt Sringeri Sarada temple book shop also. In fact you can ask in TagorePH about Gopal. Kadambi Book Sellers is near Gangaram's, Near Clock Tower, Secunderabad. Try Gopal and Tagore. They generally have a good collection. It would be a good idea to search libraries instead. While surfing across net I found certain libraries in Hyderabad that have many rare books on astrology, philosophy and ayurveda still preserved. Some of the libraries allow copying of the text or I've heard so. One such library is the British Library(I don't remember the exact name; I'll try to search again).
