Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Hi Nimmi, I also have this combination in my chart. Since Jupiter is conjunct with this combination, mental depression is minimum. I do have photographic memory and remember nearly verbatim most of what I read, and my success in academics is mostly due to this than the hard work I put in. But my memory is abominable often…like, I can’t for life of me connect people/faces with names or invariably remember the wrong ones and it’s so embarrassing! I wonder what causes such memory fluctuations? Mindset preferences? How to gauge this from a chart? Regards, Lakshmi Nimmi Ragavan <106350.3660 (AT) compuserve (DOT) com> wrote: Dear Lakshmi, A very successful consulting engineer working for a world known enterprise in Australia has this very combination - Saturn and Ketu with Moon in Virgo in the 9th. Ascendant is Scorpio. There is no association by Jupiter (in Aquarius), Venus, Mercury (in LIbra). Sun is in Libra and Mars is in Sag. He is known for being well informed in a number of fields, not just his own. He has a couple of masters degrees and also professional qualifications as a chartered engineer. He is the principal engineer in his area. So perhaps the effect is not on the reasoning mind. I would agree that there is a certain level of pessimism where he is often surprised at his own success. So the level of comfort may be affected, the extent to which he takes the world for granted (i.e what we get from our mother?) Best Regards, Nimmi - lakshmi ramesh vedic astrology Tuesday, February 19, 2002 11:07 AM Re: [vedic astrology] Re: House for Degrees Bachelor's degree,Diplomas etc Om Gurave Namah Shri Sanjay, Namaste. I am sorry if my random reference to Dr Raman offended you. I meant no disrespect to any one. And, Guruji, I have specifically said Saturn “in dignity”, which is a typical Raman phrase and certainly not mine. I am still searching for that particular line (I know I’ve read that line before), and I intend to find it even if I have to scour all the pages of the books of Raman. But, in the meanwhile, may I quote this particular sentence from “How to judge a Horoscope-Volume One”, page 254-255: “If Moon is in conjunction with Saturn, and there’s no beneficial aspect to relieve, the mind is stubborn, slow and subject to melancholia. When, however, there is Adhi yoga or Gajakesari yoga, a well-balanced mind with good reasoning qualities will develop and a retentive memory is shown.” Also Guruji, memory is more of a convenient indexing of events & data, so that retrieval is easy. More of repetitive I/O operations. Doesn’t “Dhi” imply considerably more than memory? Don’t we have so many “absent minded professors” whose genius is unquestionable? Since Saturn rules organization and discipline, and also in a way “ is a planet of logic” ( Page 35 of Notable horoscopes- Adi Sankaracharya ) a good Saturn can certainly aid a good memory. That’s why memory can be “trained” unlike true brilliance…. Also Saturn, as Yama, needs to remember everyone’s accumulated karmic balance sheet spanning so many births, to deal out punishment or to award emancipation. He’s the oldest and has the longest memory. Thanks for giving a valuable lesson well meant, well taken & not easily forgotten (I’ve got a crick in the neck poring over books …) on this auspicious day of “Ratha Saptami” or “Surya Jayanthi “… “Dhyaayet-Sooryam Ananthakoti-kiranam Thejomayam-Bhaaskaram Bhakthaanam-abhayapradam Dinakaram Jyothirmayam Sankaram Aadithyam Jagadeesam-achyuthamajam Thrailokya choodaamanim Bhaktabheesta-varapradam Dinamanim Maarthanda-maadhyam Subham “ May He always lead us to Truth.
