Guest guest
Dear Gordon, Being the 12th house for America in an earthly sign, Taurus, could it be an indication for a massive earthquake, which would strike New York city in the coming months? One New Age psychic in America has predicted this for the year 2002. Your sishya, Dhira Krsna dasa
Guest guest
om gurave namah------------------------Dear Gordon, What a fine letter - made my day. Its good to hear these words from one as enlightened as you. The problem is that the astrologers normally predict doomsday at the moment of contact of such a conjunction and this is what is the bogus part of it. The conjunctions in capricorn, the sign of debility of Jupiter were sure to lead to a radical change in the religious outlook of the people. In fact this would occur gradually. The changeover normally should involve both Jupiter and saturn in the conjunction. The eclipse in the year shows that during the course of the year (6 months time frame due to the Sun and 9 months for rahu to impact), the area coming under the line of the eclipse will see major political upheavel and a new world order is going to be created. I have written something on this in the forthcoming Jyotish digest. This is the immediate political impact within the year, but the long term impact will be the EXALTATION OF THE MOON as this is occuring in Taurus instead of Capricorn (DEBILITY OF JUPITER). In a away, there can be a reversal of various trends that you indicate for the 1960's. People will become more family conscious and will extoll family values and ties. Many will want to know their lineage. There will be a greater movement towards Vasudeva Kutumbakkam among the nations. The United Nations will stop playing political boss roles and start playing the Caring Mother role...many such things will follow. But doomsday type of things will not happen. In fact in a recent seminar many an astrologer spent hours trying to spell out the doomsday due to this conjunction - pathetic they won'tstop to think. With best wishesSanjay Rath PS I missed you at Delhi - was lost in the new mag..that's me. I hope to catch you at Kerala.http://sanjayrath.tripod.com - GWBrennan (AT) aol (DOT) com vedic astrology Monday, February 11, 2002 2:50 PM Re: [vedic astrology] May 14/15th 2002-7 Planets in Vrishaba (Taurus) Dear astrologers I have encountered this tendency to assess a major conjunction of planets as a microscopic event on several occasions. Why is there such a limited view? If you look at history you can see massive changes associated with great planetary alignments. It is surely no coincidence that after the close association of combusted Mercury, Jupiter and Venus with Ketu and Sun/Moon at eclipse in late Capricorn the world, led by the West, has redisovered homosexuality, contempt for traditional authority, women's liberation, perverted music, drugs and rejection of traditional religion in favour of gross materialism. For those over 50, expecially in the West, there is a clear memory of the almost sudden tide of revolution that swept old established practices away in the early sixties. In the USA this almost exactly coincided with 7 years of Ketu dasha of the nation and extraoridinary 'Flower Power' came and went within this time. If you go back in time from 1962 to the last 8 planet configuration, in 1524 in Aquarius, you can see that following that the entire religious life of the world changed dramatically over years including such things as establishment of English language, growth of humanist religions, protestantism in Europe, religious conquest of North and South America, flowering of humanist rennaissance, tearing away from traditional authority, discovery of New World, etc., etc. More details can be supplied if anyone is interested. Guest guest
Actually to find out what direction to look in for the particular effect of a conjunction go to the 11th house from the conjunction. You see for example in Ashtakavarga every planet gives maximum points in the 11th, so this indicates that the biggest effect is there. Seven planets in Taurus will mean that predominantly Pisces issues are being activated but in a Taurus way. Pisces is a water sign and suggests emotional turmoil due to economy or some domestic factor, rather than earthly upheaval. If the conjunction was in Gemini, indicating division and activating fiery Aries then you could have a volcanic explosion for example.
