If I am not mistaken for Lagna Vimsottari Dasa we consider the longitude of the lagna. Example: Assuming your birth time 21:30, Lagna sphuta is 03Ge50 So balance of Mars Dasa would be 6d 40m - 03d 50m = 02d 50m (2d 50m / 13d 20m) * 7 = approx. 1yr 6months of Mars at birth. So you are running Mercury-Mercury now.
