Guest guest
Namaste, When Trayodasi tithi (13th lunar day) falls on a Saturday, it is called Sani Trayodasi. It is Saturn's favorite day. Sani Trayodasi in a Krishna paksha (waning fortnight) is called Krishna Sani Trayodasi and is even more powerful. It is easier to please Saturn with meditation on that day. It comes rarely. February 9, 2002 is a Krishna Sani Trayodasi in most of the world. In terms of GMT, Trayodasi starts at 2:19 am on Feb 9 and ends at 3:48 am on Feb 10. Convert this to your local standard time. This Saturday is a very very good day to pray to Saturn. Another reason for praying to Saturn is that he is becoming direct tomorrow (hurrah!). Saturn's dreaded transit in Rohini constellation started last May and will end in May/June 2002. This is one of the root causes of most of the economical and political turmoil we see in the world today. Hopefully, the end of Saturn's retrogression will bring relief. Though he will soon be joined by his mischievous friend Rahu (violence and disarray), hopefully world economical and political situation will improve. If you believe in Hindu worship methods, don't forget to pray to Saturn this Saturday! Best regards, Narasimha PS: I will be reciting Saturn's 108 names 108 times on Saturday morning (starting at 9:30 am at my house in South Grafton, Mass). Those who live close to Boston/Worcester are most welcome to come to my house and join me in the prayers. If you want to come and need directions, please send a private email to pvr108 or pvr. Guest guest
Hi Narasimha, Just so many coincidences with my birth data that I could not help posting this message.I was born on Krishna Trayodasi on a Friday past midnight. This makes it Saturday as per western calendar. So would I be a krishna shani trayodashi? Does this have a significance? Incidentally my janma nakshatra is also rohini. But I quite like his transit through my janma nashatra. And incidentally, saturn is retro and strong in his own house in capricorn in 10H. My astrologer always says that I should never propitiate shani as he is strong. Does Feb 9 have any special significance for me? I ask these questions very superficially off the top of my head. Guest guest
Dear Narasimha Rao Pranams I heard on any Sani Trayodasi it is recommended to perform Rudra Abhishekam, as it is believed that Sani and Rahu are controlled by Rudra (shiva). I am planning to do Rudrabhisheka with Mahanyasam on Saturday (11 times Rudra and 1 time Chamakam). If this is not true please let me know. Murthy --- "Narasimha P.V.R.
