Guest guest
Friends! If Ketu is in 6th from AL, then Rahu must be in 12th from AL. Therefore, it follows that Ketu in 6th from AL is a benefic. Right? Guest guest
JAYA JAGANNATHA! Dear Lakshmi, Namaste. Om Gurave Namah Namaste Guruji & friends, Re: Sanjayji's article about "Sixth from AL" Ketu placed in sixth from AL is to be considered a malefic or benefic? The rule indicates whether someone will be more inclined towards spirituality or materialism. Malefics in 3rd or 6th from AL (incl. Sat, Mars, Rahu and badly associated Mercury) give success in the material field. Benefics here (incl. Venus, Jupiter, Moon, well-associated Mercury, Sun and Ketu) give rise to Pravrajya yoga, i.e. the native will not be successful in material things, therefore he turns towards spirituality. In other cases Ketu and Sun is taken as a malefic, but Jaimini says that they are benefic for dharma, and because this combination gives rise to dharma, thereofre they are taken as benefics. Ramakrishna Paramahamsa had Ketu in 6th from AL, and Mother Teresa had Rahu in 3rd from AL, Sun and Mars in 6th. Now Rahu is the Atmakaraka in this case, so it gives spirituality, and Sun is stronger than Mars in the 6th house. Now Mars is Matrikaraka, and thus she became famous as "Mother" Teresa. Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Namaste Gauranga ji, Thanks for a very nice explanation regarding Ketu in sixth from AL. Combined with Visti’s explanation it really made sense. But I still have a couple of doubts in this respect, and eagerly look forward to your clarifications. Renunciation, whether judged from AL or Lagna, is it physical or mental? In the examples you have given the people were celibate, so their renunciation was both. But, in another mail you did mention that “sanyas” is prohibited in Kaliyug along with aswamedha yagna and certain other rituals like animal sacrifice etc. Then how is physical renunciation possible for normal human beings? In Ramayana, Maharaja Janaka was often referred to as “Rajarshi”. He did not renounce the world, yet he was quite detached & wise and was treated on par with maharishis. Isn't this kind of renunciation more meant for Kaliyuga? How is the state of “vaanaprastha” to be understood in this context? Isn’t this a truer kind of renunciation, where all desires /responsibilities have been met, and a person spends his final moments solely in the contemplation of god, like a mellowed leaf gracefully falling to the ground, rather than turn to God on the rebound, because fate had been unkind? Waiting for your response. Regards, Lakshmi Gauranga Das <gauranga (AT) brihaspati (DOT) net> wrote: JAYA JAGANNATHA! Dear Lakshmi, Namaste.
