dear sarbani

there are quite a few technical differences between atmakaraka and

lagna lord. jaimini and parasara are quite clear about this.

from jaimini we can get

Saeeshtay bandhamokshayoh. Atmakaraka gives bad and good

results by virtue of malefic and benefic dispositions such as

debility, exaltation, etc.

When the Atmakaraka is in exaltation or in beneficial Rasis or

conjunctions, though the person is imprisoned he will be liberated,

will live in holy places and will have Moksha or Final Emancipation.

But when he is in Neecha Rasi or with evil conjunctions and aspects he

will be imprisoned, will suffer from chains and other tortures, and

will not have Moksha. But it this debilitated planet has beneficial

aspects or conjunctions, he will be liberated.

see what jamini means by atmakarak is the one who is the true

perceptor of spiriutlaity and the facilitator for the jeeva or the

person to get moksha.

lagna lord means the lord of personal;ity, he gives the physique,

aptitudes, reasoning, behaviour etc.

regardign other question, i generally feel that the vimshottari dasa

can be taken from the stronger of the two rasis that is lagna or

chandra. but the general charecterestics of a person are still

goverend by lagna. lagna is very broad concept. chandra is the person

who rules emotions. thus the emotional faculty can be described by

chandra.

well we can see it in another way. the stronger of the lagna and

chandra lagna will determine wether person thinks more or feels more.

usually strong lagna people are more thinkers and strong chandra

people are feelers.

regards

partha
