See it is very difficult to predict first marriage, extra marital

affairs et al through arudha concept. If a person has learnt his

astrology and explored and researched the concepts of arudha he can

explain the extra-relations. But i would give you my analogy of this

whole episode

 

See the 7th lord for marriage, see the presence of venus for multiple

marriages.

7th lord , venus in dwiswabhava rasis indicates multiple marriages.

 

7th house afflictions give extra marital affairs. Mercury in 17th

degree of scorpio and presence of malefics(rahu mars) in 8th house

give the native such tendencies. This is the simple way of looking at

it.venus in 7th , sun in 7th, mars in 7th are aslo indicative of such

tendencies.

 

Venus if afflicted by mars gives srong tendencies for multiple

relations, venus with rahu you can guess what will be the case.

 

The strength of lagna lord and 7th lord indicate how long the

marriage would last. Multiple relations is the result of loose

morals. i cannot see how we can use arudha for that .

 

navamsa is the best indicator for marriage and multiple

relations.navamsa is the chart of dharma and also is widely used for

marriage matching. if you have further doubts then feel free to ask

me. i would always give you simple answers.

Dear Partha and List,

 

Its not hard to predict, nor understand the Arudha Concept of marriage. But

yes..if you don't know, then you cannot live to tell.

 

Lets try to understand the concept of marriage, in astrology.

The person meets the spouse, sometimes without anticipation of marriage, and

then later on they may decide to marry.

 

Now this is where alot of dicussion has been held, regarding the timing of

marriage. How to differ between the physical union and the marital union?

 

Actually this is where Arudhas comes in.

Lets adress a concern first;

 

"Why the Arudha of 12th house? Why not the Arudha of 7th house?"

 

The Darapada (A7) shows all the people we associate with. Their qualities(in the

sence of maya) and etc. Among these people we meet, we will meet our spouse.

 

Now Upapada (A12/UL), shows the people we share our bed with, and hence the

person we meet(A7) becomes our spouse(UL). Thats why some people say that the

spouse changes after marriage.

 

Ok now we can continue;

"Whats the difference between the Physical union and the Marital union?"

 

The Difference is that, once the pair meets each other, they spend time

together, and only later on figure out whether they will marry or not.

Only later on do they marry.

 

The Upapada will then show the actual marriage, where the world considers them as a couple.

 

"In some cases the couple do not meet until marriage? How to decide this?"

 

Well the Upapada will show, all the maya related with the actual marriage, hence

also whether the marriage origined from love(own decission) or was fixed(others

decission).

 

Generally, if the Upapada is associated with Darapada, Venus or Mars then the

marriage maybe a love-marriage. Theres more to this.

 

If however Darapada associates with the 2nd from Upapada, then the people one

meets(extra marital relations) may cause trouble or break the marriage.

 

Hence Upapada itself shows the marriage, whilst the 2nd from it shows the

sustenance/troubles of marriage.

 

If too many malefics associate with Upapada, then the marriage may not happen at

all. Especially if theres no benefic intervention. Sun is a benefic for

marriage, as its Dharma Karaka. Keep in mind that i'm only referring to Natural

Malefics/Benefics.

 

If the lord of Upapada is weak/afflicted(see both rasi and navamsa), then again

the marriage might not happen. Or in some cases, the marriage may happen but

will end after a very short period. Usually it results in an annulment of the

marriage.

 

I and others on this list, have covered this topic so many times before, and

also the other concepts, such as; Origin of spouse, Timing of marriage, etc.

 

Keep in mind that the 7th house, shouldn't be ignorred, i refer to classics,

such as Bphs and Brihat Jataka-Varahamihira, for a more thorough understanding

of the 7th house.
